[Melodic Trance] Mr Lucky - Believe in it

Hello guys,

Thought i'd introduce myself i'm a young amateur trance producer from France. I've been producing for about 7 years now and i'm quite keen on improving and eventually getting my tracks out there. My buddy Static Blue told me it was a good idea to post some clips here to get some feedback.

Here's a clip of my latest track, feedback is highly appreciated (even harsh feedback) and I will take the comments into account for my new tracks

Hope you enjoy it !

Not bad, the first thing that jumps out at me is your perc sounds very much like you're using loops and they don't quite fit - you've got points where the grooves of the individual loops are clashing, giving kinda doubling up sounds which gives your track an odd and kinda rushed/too swingy groove which doesn't work for me.

It would be nice to hear some other sounds (soft sweep fx, quiet synth patterns etc) alongside the pads from 0m 35s as they sound a bit lonely on their own, but you haven't fallen into the trap of using weak sounding strings on their own which A LOT of people do and imo it can really separate a pro sounding track from an amateur one, so you're on the right lines there.

The lead at 1m 15s is simple, which can work but really it helps if there's more going on (subtly) - putting a bit more delay on the lead could help there, some more sweep fx & background sounds etc

Levels etc seem good so good work there. So generally I'd say a few more sweep fx, subtle synth patterns and maybe add some stronger synth elements when it all kicks in a bit to make it sound fuller... and tidy up the perc

4.5/10

(Mark scale: 0 Give Up, 1-3 Gonna take some more work, 4-5 Nearly there, 6-8 Signable, 9-10 Outstanding)

really beautiful and transcendent feel. Not quite as odd as I would like, but well crafted. Very good energy. I too would put it straight up the middle in rank and feel. It seems like you are an artist intent on creating a certain feel rather than make a spectacle of yourself. To each his own Its very polished but could stand out a little more.
