Click that and watch, this has to be on the most on point advertising pieces I've ever witnessed in my professional career!

When I Grow Up....

"smoke a lot of dope"

Volume Up, Full Screen, It's worth the watch...that is if you are serious in your career you'll be able to relate...driven..

hmm... media planner over here

good find it musta been cathartic for the advertising people who worked on that commercial...

I emailed it to my boss. She said it actually was aired during the superbowl 1 or 2 years ago. It's a good commercial. Probably didn't cost too much either.

but i dont get the commerical.....dont kids tend to say when i grow up i want to be police officer, firefighter, teacher, astronaut or a scientist?

were they acutally making fun of the fact that we dont really grow up to what we want?

it landed me my first job here at McGraw-Hill Professional out of college 1st year on my 3rd year here looking at a possible senior business analyst or sales operations director full time positions within the coming year..pretty excited to hold either/both those titles as my job responsibility encompasses both.

i think the commercial touches upon how as children we don't ever dream to be these so called types of jobs, but educated how these jobs are important at a young age can help lead our world to be more driven for success. afterall monster is a market place for employers and candidates for positions. sorta brings us back to our childhood and makes us this that we never would have imagined we'd be where we were. hell, when i was a kid i didn't know playing with computers would net me such a career driven life. so all those countless hours when dial up was the only connection to the internet, that i spent over night downloading installing programs etc, has ultimately fueled my career. great ad i must say, 100% on point in every aspect, designed really well, simple message, hits home to almost everyone (except jayme but that's an isolated case), and allows us to relate....

good job monster.com!

yeah, thats basically the point...theyre saying that when you were a kid, you didnt go around wishing that you made it to middle management or getting a good 401k...i just dont see whats so mindblowing or genius about it...
