Exporting audio better?

I'm working with a powerbook g4 1.67 1 GB RAM running logic 7.0, and I'm working on my first track. while reviewing my track before I bounce it, the core audio engine keeps failing. I soon discovered it was due to this one instrument on one of my channels.

so I said fuck it, I'll export this midi channel to audio and then import the audio file, and bingo! no more freezing at this point in my track.

now my question is, should I export all of my midi channels into audio files and then import the audio files before I bounce all the channels into one song, seemingly conserving cpu usage?

gee i hope this makes sense...

Did you buy the instrument?

if cpu usage is an issue for you then its not a bad idea at all. having .wav copies of individual instruments is also nice if you plan on doing a seperate mixdown after teh sequencing is finished.

it can be annoying though because tweaking a .wav is a lot harder than the original midi channel

To be honest with you. I am using Logic 5.5 for Pc. and When i feel like i am going to get Overloads I start bouncing them To audio. I try to really Get the Most Quality of out them. I would take each one and Add some Stereo effects on to it and maybe some EQing before i bounce each one. It will makes your life so much easier, plus giving you the chance to either use that sound or remove it. Most of my tracks i dont have the MIDI Playing anymore. I just Bounce EVERY Synth. Maybe just the Bassline i leave as MIDI. Give it a shot let me know. I also bounce them as 24bit instead of 16bit.
