BMP change FTL

Am I the only one who has this weird obsessive hate for bpm changes? If I'm listening to a track preview on beatport, and it's the best thing I've ever heard, but then there's a subtle 2-3 second BPM change, I won't even consider buying it, and I won't ever look at that track again.

lol i doubt that, no one in their right mind would make a song with a bpm change in it.

I think what you mean is when people add in an element at a faster rate, such as moving from eighth notes to sixteenths. And if that pisses you off, well... get used to it. It's used a lot in trance as an alternative to the key change in an effort to give the song an "uplifting" feel.

Two pretty well-known hardcore tracks that feature a not-so-subtle BPM change as well:

French Connection - French Connection
DJ Dano - 120-9000 BPM (and yes, that one lives up to its name)

Jam & Spoon - Follow Me has a ridiculous pitch change.

theres some eurodance tracks that do this.. champion sound the warning as well lol

Moby - Thousand

It goes from slow, to hella fast, to slow, and back again. It's apparently in the Guinness Book of Records as the fastest track ever recorded, although I don't know if it holds up to that standard nowadays or not.

Tbh Accelerate was a bit crap, aside from the novelty factor, and even after the huge breakdown (for hard house,) I don't feel it recovers from the slow down to 150 bpm or whatver again.

actually i have to disagree, if anything, some tracks are really shit at their original speed. some examples
Blaze - When i fall in love (antiloop remix) sounds way to fast as it's original speed, it's a darkish house record and don't need to played at prog speeds.
Remy & Roland Klinkenberg - Till Ya Drop! is way to slow at it's original pace. it's a tech(trance) record and needs to be played at +6 atleast

They're talking about bmp-change in the track itself, as in parts of the track going faster or slower, not increasing or decreasing the bmp of the whole track. There are many examples of tracks that sounds better when they are pitched up or down

Alex Morph's Mix Of Halcyon needs to be plus 4 at least I reckon!

BMP != BPM
