Review Nick Pilon & Markus Schulz @ ARIA - 17th Feb
Yup I'm already back at home. As many of you are at the ARIA again dancing on Markus and Kal, I had to get back sooner than expected. Anyway here's my review.
I arrived at the Aria at 2ham. We (3 of my friends and I) were on Nick's guest list but the doorman wouldn't want to let us throught the line. He sais that even the guys on the guestlist had to wait...which is ain't true. Anyway the guy was really pissing me off like he didn't care at all. He even didn't look at us while answering. So we got in the line and I decided to call Louis to let him know of the situation. Louis seemed pissed off to and he told me he'll look into that. So after like 35min outside I decided to ask the other doorman which was nicier. He let us throught without any questions at all. We got on the dancefloor at 3ham.
I was pissed off about that line shit we had outside because I missed a lot of Nick's set. I was going to Aria last night to hear Nick again. So first thing I did was get near the booth and shake Nick's hand to thanks him for the guestlist and also congratulates him on his well done job at the Aria and on House-Pacifique with Lost in Trance. I got back on the dancefloor and took me like 30 seconds to get into the vibe. Nick's set was awesome. I really enjoyed it like any other sets I heard from him. Nick, you couldn't have done a better job for a warmup of Markus Schulz, in my opinion. You were awesome !
Markus Schulz arrived on the decks at 4h30 I think. It was the first time I've seen him and I'm not disapointed. He put a lot of great tracks and many I never heard. I don't listen Global DJ Broadcast on DI...but next time the guest is Paul Van Dyk if anyone's interested 
Anyway, I liked the set of Markus, but not as much as Nick's set. I found that Markus was putting a lot of known "killer" tracks in a row and then 3-4 unknown songs. I would have mixed them up a little more. I heard very good songs I didn't know about and I was satisfied. But we had to leave at 6h30 for many reasons such as my friends were tired...I wasn't but they were my lift so I didn't really have the choice. And it would be unfair for me to stay and them wait in the lounge. Anyway, I was disappointed of leaving so soon, but if it would be Armin, that would have been different !
Hey, guess what ? I did finally meet some TAs ! I first met Nick in the booth, then Jesteraver who was passing near me one time...then I met Enjoy who was laying in a couch. I saw StereoHead in the booth but I didn't want to come in the booth, there was a lot of people in there. Saw Louis in the booth, but I didn't see Tag. I was expected to see him and Jesteraver told me he was near by...anyway it was nice finally meeting some TAs after over a year on this board 
Overall it was a relax night. Not a killer one like Ferry in October or Junkie & Mauro 2 weeks ago, but it was nice. There was a lot of people at the Aria and I was surprised. I didn't know Markus Schulz was so popular. Jesteraver told me it wasn't as much crowded last time Markus came in September. Anyway I enjoyed the night, even if it was a bit too short 
Now I'm waiting 'till Admission put the BeB tickets onsale at 9h...lol

Nick Pilon... You are an amazing DJ and glad to have you spinning at Aria. Nice trance sets all the time.

Overall I was glad to be there! Crowd was at its best!!

maybe it was because the sound was horrible at times (equipment problems ? or schulz fucking up on the mixer?) dunno .. my ears hurt when he dropped Tracking Treasure Down and during several other tunes .. ouch
and partyig w/o being on anything kinda sucks too, but i gotta lay off that shit .. so im still kinda proud of myself

show was dope, nick pilon was awesome, markus was alright, and kal was good too...nice to meet everyone i did, and to see the others.

wow... two hours after i figured we'd be back home safely in VT, here Caela and I are at Julius' house dazed and barely awake, still rockin with a whole platoon of TA's. full review to come monday.
this is ninja.....at the after with everyone...never made it to schultz....but DEF comin to aria tonite with the crew for some King Louis, Creator and some Miguel!!!

Nick set was pretty cool... just the end was like 
Schulz is set was pretty nice, sort of hard to compare his first and todays set. One thing thats for sure, more people came I think this time then last time. I remember at 6am it was dead his first time here and today was still a lot of people dancing by 6am.
Too bad the girls from NY had to leave early to catch their train back home
was an awesome morning thats for sure! the ear plugs helped so so so much! no ringing in the ears.

Nick's set was quality as always, lots of familiar tracks, too bad I had to miss a lot of it due to the naasty freezing line.
And I must say, after listening to some recent Global DJ Broadcasts, my expectations for Markus were basically that he was gonna put me to sleep. But I was pleasantly surprised by a LOT of hard, banging toons! Great set by Markus....the Tracking Treasure Down remix OMGWTFBBQ, so good. Dogzilla - Without You, Without You Near remix, the man actually played some good trance IMO!
Kal was OK, nothing from his set really stood out I found...but it was refreshing to hear some more house-ish stuff after that trance marathon...
Great to see all the familiar faces....Brendan, Erika, Nick, Jesse, didn't even get to see DJwhore Val! Also cool to meet Caela and Aureus finally! Briefly attended the after party, good to see everyone from last night and a bunch of the chokers as well! And Julius keep up the good work on the decks my man, from what I heard I was very impressed!
I know you guys are still rockin it hard over there, and I hope you all have a wicked time tonight for Louis/Creator...I'm jealous!
