Angry I don't really like my friends anymore..

I mean, they've gotten real nerds, they're lazy, they've got a terrible taste of music, if I put on a movie, they don't like it when there aren't any funny parts in the first minute, THEY PLAY World of Warcraft and talk all-fucking-day about it , they don't want to go out, they have absolutely no plans for their future, they have no dreams and I miss some kind of feeling for adventure with them .

Every friday and saturday we always gather at somebody's place to chill, drink some beer, watch a film or play some Gamecube, but last year it all has gotten into a 'talk-about-WOW-night'.

I guess I was a bit like them some years ago, that's why they're my friends, but we've changed over the years, and still we're always sticking together..

what to do, what to do.

I know! they leave everything for those stupid games! They won't go to the beach in the summer: "no man! I need to do this instance on wow with my buddies, it's gonna be real cool"

Posted by Krypton on Feb-19-2006 00:46:

i have two sets of friends. one set, the ones ive become friends with at school are cool people and they are forreal, but dont have my tastes in music or fun. hence, why the other set is my druggie, techno, clubbing friends, but who i dont get to hang out with much because of the scene and distances.

You made friends with people who have a Gamecube?

Yes, Ditch these friends. My BEST friend has ditched countless nights to play WoW.

Me: wanna come chill with us?
Friend: Sorry, molten core tonight

Well, needless to say, I don't talk to him anymore He can play with his WoW friends all he wants.

The REAL world is where it is at!

that's right, when you're bored with the usual, two-time it with the new. rule of thumb for everything.

pretty much. that may sound harsh - but if you don't like the people you are hanging out with - then stop hanging around with them.

didn't everyone tell you to stop hanging around DA, TigerClaw, Nou, and Tweek ... ?? geez .. haha ..

anyways .. it's just those empty gap stages between teenager and adult .. the years when one grows up faster than the rest of the others ... now you make the decision . should you try to help your friends with their growth rate at the same speed like yours, or just ditch them ?

Not that anyone is judging you, but I think if you're posting in the COR you lose all rights to say that

I went through this about three years ago. All my friends were stoners who used to think that a good saturday night involved Playstation 2, an ounce of weed, loads of munchies and dead arm compettitions. No one shared my music taste, and tbh it was ahit.

I went out and found some new friends, it's time you did the same dude

Posted by varun on Feb-19-2006 10:25:

I remember I had a similiar problem with my group of friends. They were simply not that into my kind of music. Initially, I let it go as they were my friends, and good friends whom I could count on.
Gradually, I met new people who shared the same tastes in music as I did and I gradually distanced myself from my previous group and starting spending more time with my newer friends.
As mentioned earlier, no need to burn any bridges. Find like-minded people and try and start spending more time with them.
