Let me know what you think. It's been called 'Trance for piano'.

Heh.

I really liked it the piano is one of my favorite sounds in trance.

Listening. So far very nice.

00:51 - didn't like how you transitioned here too much...

...however what it led into. Very good.

01:31 - pretty

It's hard to judge piano compositions... but I can say "I like this one."

02:24 - awesome

Your certainly good.

03:12 of 03:17 - WOAH weirdness at the end. Sounded like "the grand" or a reverb plug in just pooped out.

Good job sir.

lsitening...

dissonace is good when used correctly...but at the 0:16 mark or whatever...didnt sound too good.

again @ 0:50, sounds wrong.

but nice chord progression after that.

1:25 nice little running figure. again, that dissonance does not belong there(at the end of the run..)

2:46, wierd last note there.

ah..that dissonance.

well, nice first piece here, i like the general idea, and the chord progressions used. just that dissonance, ruins the whole mood. i suppose the form is ABA with a coda? the ending is just whack... but good job overall!

Thanks for the comments, guys. I plan to do more piano compositions in the future... they'll get better.

It's not really disonant, btw. This piece is in d dorian with a modulation to g mixolydian. In dorian, cadences are done by augmenting the 7th.. perhaps I should of used a 5th instead of the 7th in a few spots, though.

If it sounds "weird" to listeners, I probably didn't use it right. heh. My first time playing with a church mode other than Iolian (major) and Aeolian (natural minor).

Thanks again for the comments on it, everyone! I may "trance-pose" this to a trance track... will post in here with a link if I do.

If anyone wants the midi for it, btw, here it is: http://myslu.stlawu.edu/~almarc04/A...urry_Bomber.mid

Remixes welcome... or just little samples of what the melody sounds like in a trance track

Hey,
The first thing I notice, all sounds extremelly mechanic, also the lack of dinamycs, and the lack of pedal work, you keep playing in legato all the way dude, even dont having one you can create the pedal effect, I dont hear Rallentandos, Crescendos at all, the expression is totally missed up and this is brutally important when composing for piano, I concur about the disonances, all is because the lack of pedal use and playing in legato all the way, so harmonys will crash sooner or later.
In overall, the melodies are nice, but it sounds like a midi played with The Grand.
Kopi =o.

That's what it was

I composed it in notation software and exported to MIDI. My goal wasn't to make the piano realistic.. it was to make a good composition.

THanks for the comments, Lopi!
