Hello! Bal en Blanc 12th edition hotel /motel and carpool thread

Post your hotel situation here, where you're staying, how much and so forth. This is to keep it separate from the BeB ticket thread (located in the Montreal Forums) and the actual BeB event thread. If it's a bring-your-own-sheets type of joint, s'all good.

I've got a few rooms booked at La Tour Belvdre Apartment Hotel downtown, it's about a 7$ cab ride to/from BeB, and it's two minutes from subway station, IGA grocery store, shopping mall, etc. Keep in mind Ontario folks, you can buy beer at IGA in QC.

http://www.tourbelvedere.com/index.html

It regularly goes for $140 but you get a full kitchenette with microwave, a balcony, a huge ass living room with pull-out couch, two double beds in the separate bedroom, laundry, gym, pool, internet access, etc, pretty modern too. If you work for the feds, you get a discount ($113 instead).

***If you have room to spare in your car, you can post some info here too.

I have made a reservation for Sunday and Monday night at this hotel:

Holiday Inn Select Montreal Centre-Ville
99 Avenue Viger Ouest, Montreal, Quebec H2Z 1E9, Canada
514-878-9888
http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/pc/1/en/hd/yulca

The hotel is walking distance to the Palais de Congres.

I paid $149 + tax for: 2 queen bds with seating area. Features separate seating area with free wireless high speed internet access, work area, 25 inch cable TV with pay-per-view movies, windows that open and free in room coffee and tea.

If you want to stay on-the-cheap, you could check out a hostel.

yey.. same hotel.. same nights.. same room config. I made the reservation over the phone so I'm not sure if this room has the seating area. It comes to $328.32 for 2 nights including CAA discount + taxes.

Another place is the Hotel La Tour, five minutes walking distance to BeB. Full kitchenette too, with IGA around the corner as well.. this is good for price-conscious peeps who don't want to spend too much on food (large fridge and microwave, stove in room). They are competitors with the La Tour Belvdre (at top of thread).

Price is $109 without breakfast, $85 with. Don't ask me why it's priced that way.

I got a really great rate at the Days Inn Downtown (http://www.expedia.ca/pub/agent.dll...=1140551551660&).

It's $333 for three nights (we're making a weekend of it).

The admission.com site recommends the Delta Chelea, and it's $199 PER NIGHT for the discounted rate.

My room has no cancellation policy, which is the only catch, but since we're not cancelling, it's a great deal!

Booked with Expedia.

that's an excellent rate, place isn't bad.. I've stayed there before. The only problem at the time is the lobby smelled like Pink Elephant turds

for those students who are looking for something cheap, Rue Saint Hubert (right behind Voyageur/Greyhound station) has a row of dirt cheap downtown hotels, about 10 min walk to BeB. Hotel Taj Mahal is one of the better ones on the street.

who'll be here on the friday or saturday for drinks and chit chat?

Posted by Kongah on Feb-27-2006 03:58:

Unless I'm mistaken, that Holiday Inn is literally right next to the Palais des Congres.

Me and 9 others from Boston will be at Four Points Sheraton, on sherbrooke ouest... Suite with private bedroom (king size), living room with sofa fold out (double size bed) and with city view... free internet, fridge, really nice room, CAD$145/night and we're coming on saturday morning, leaving monday around noon... Malek, we'll have to work something out for sat night.. would love to run into the main photographer of the city who caught me and took a picture of me specifically with my friend at last year's BeB

www.starwoodhotels.com if you guys want in for this hotel... I stayed there last year.. Really decent hotel and pretty darn cheap.. say 4 ppl per room, you are talking like 290/4, less than CAD$75 / person for 2 nights in a kick-ass room! Anyhow, that's my info...

Posted by malek on Feb-27-2006 20:47:

I don't want to party hard on saturday night, because the Sunday is one of the most demanding day in the year... but I'm up for drinks in the evening

that would be excellent

On the professional tour, BeB is one of the majors.
