Zeta and its saw settings

Is the cygnus x - superstrings (rank 1 mix) saw sound possible on zeta?
I was playing around, I used 5 oscilators set to multi free, phased them all the way, and then detuned them a little against eachother. All vintage saw 2. Then added 2 HPfilters, cuttoff pushed up, then a little reverb and some delay. changed the eq inside of zeta for lower mids, slightly higher highs, and lower lows. Theres something missing.
I then tried a cynus x patch from patch arena, that was missing it too. V-station or superwave don't see to have this softness either. Perhaps its some effect I'm missing or synth setting? I did look around the net but nothing helpful came up for reproducing that sound. I think the only trance song that I've heard this specific supersawish sound is the one mentioned above.

btw, Z3ta is amazing, well worth the money

Try these multisamples (I made them in Reason 3), they sound pretty close I think.

That sound can be achieved with 1 osc in z3ta. What makes the difference are the effects after it.

Unfortunatly thats the problem i'm having. I can't figure out how to get the sound soft enough.

Eldritch - any tips for porting your sounds to zeta?

Don't bother with those samples. I just realised they're missing a few keys which makes transitions between notes sound bad. I'm going to try the z3ta demo, I'll see if I can make a patch with it.

Unfortunately the mp3 doesn't exist anymore, so i don't know how good it is, but from the text it looks like it is close. I can't figure out how to convert those jp settings to zeta.

I hear rank 1 uses z3ta, maybe they know the secrets...

there is one part that mentions some lfo settings for recreating the rank 1 sound, mentioning that "The key to the Rank 1 sound and the warmth of the jp 8080 is FREQUENCY MODULATION"

You're gonna wanna turn the LFO up about 4.5 notches, and set the waveform to triangle. You're going to use the LFO to control the modulation. You do this by going to the Wheel-Mod panel and clicking "FrqA" and the "B" that follows it, which means frequency modulation for osc A and for osc B, respectively. Right now it probably sounds way too wavery. Now go to the modulation wheel, which is besides the pitch wheel at the bottom left. It defaults partially up, but the frq mod of the pro 53 is very very sensitive, so you need to turn it down so much that it almost looks off, it should only be a couple of pixels away from 0. (See Pic.)

perhaps this holds some secrets to the soft, massive superstring sound. I'm at work, so i can't find out yet

z3ta is a pretty cool synth. But I don't think it's the best for really smooth supersaw sounds. (Unless you layer a bunch of them)
