LORD OF THE RINGS- the play

I went to see Lord of the Rings Stage Musical at Princess of Wales T. last night.

I can sum it up in one word, ok maybe two: MAGICAL!!! and AWSOME!!!

I highly recommend it to anyone that likes the book and appreciates a good show. It was absolutely amazing: the lights, sound, special effects, costumes, music; it all came together perfectly creating the magical and mystical mood Tolkien intended it to have.

After seeing the trilogy on the big screen I didn't think the stage adaptation will be able to capture it well (especially the battles)- was I ever wrong!

so go and see it - u will not be disappointed!

funny was when my bf kept turning to me saying: " can u imagine those lights and this moving stage at the guv!!! that would be such a awesome party" - soo agree LOL

the musical is supposedly quite the spectacle.

As you can imagine I hear a lot about it every day at school.

me too, but I still like my fantasy (not Harry Potter, Dungeons and Dragons or Chronicles of Narnia) and sci fi.

I'd actually like to see this play. I saw The Hobbit here in London a few years ago at the Grand Theatre. Quite interesting.

Musical, not play.

Im dying to see it!I auditioned for it around this time last year. This bad boy has been a work in progress for ages and is supposed to be spectacular. Im so jealous of those of you who've seen it already.

Im not a fan of Lord of the Rings at all but I will be seeing this. If you have any interest in theatre I think this is something we all must see keeping in mind the state of Toronto's entertainment industry within the last few years and how huge this is.

hopefully the probable success of Lord of the Rings will also help the REAL theatre backbone of Toronto: Tarragon, Theatre Passe Muraille, Soulpepper, Factory, etc.

Thanks for the advice, Paula! I really want to take Jenny to this...

THANK YOU!!!! I've tried to watch the first one 3 times now, and fallen asleep within the first 30 mins or so.

The musical is obviously different than the movie, but I probably wont be seeing this either.

Damn, I hear ya. Don't let the 1st HALF of the 1st movie hold you back though...it get SO much better towards the end! And then the 2nd and 3rd movies get progessively EVEN BETTER!!!

Fast-forward that Shire bullshit!!!
