Well, because of all the remixes I've been into the last couple of weeks and all of the World Of Light admin (getting signed for NMA promotion at DenimProject etc), I finally could finish my new Lightworks track yesterday... It's taken quite a long time; actually I had the main lead programmed in the beginning of january and just because of all the remixes I couldn't always spend that much time to it as I wanted. I Re-uploaded and deleted it 4 times from mp3.com because I was making even more changes to it etc... but now it's finally up *sigh*

hehe... i have had the same problem with remixing songs so i haven't had time to my own thing's.. but i finally got with Ocean of Life.

i really like when the string come in about 4.10..
and the breath.. it sounds really cool.

could i get that sample?

it's a great track. i really like the string arrangements...gives it almost epic feel. =>

for some reason i could not download the mp3 completely (it stops at almost 3 minute mark) but i was able to listen to the streaming version...weird.

starts of ok, the bassline needs more punch I think, good use of them samples nice pads at the 4:00 min mark that realy adds a lot of emotion and kicks the track off . The little back ground melody that starts at 7:20, them notes are off, it don't go with the rest off the mix.

well, i've got comments from other people to cut on the bass volume/strength and now i get the opposite comment from you... kinda confusing
i'm glad you liked the melody, i've made a re-edited version that's got some different sounds, with the sound at the 7:20 mark cleared and some extra effects.

I like the bassline and SFX, they are pretty neat... the clap is a little weak, i can hardly hear it...! The ride is maybe a tad too loud as well...

I like the synths,4 some reason it reminds me of the old WipeOut games, it would suit the sound track for them maybe... ??

Hmmm, they is quite a few small Sn. builds which dont lead to much... also, after every build, the bassline seems to change or get quiter... It mite just be me but thats wut it sounds like...

I love the strings in the breakdown, they are freking AWESOME!

Also, that vocal sample is freaky...

The lead b-up is pretty lame IMHO... its too small... too quite and too... empty...

But still, i like the melody... maybe it could have been beefed up abit and brought more to the front... but apart from that its gawd dayum awesome...

Definatly u're best track yet... and the best melody u've made yet, thats for sure

i simply loved those wipeout games (seruious speeds!), so i'll take it as a compliment
i'm working on some samples now at the moment to better suit the track, but it'll take some time... but i'll let you know

you think the buildup isn't nice, the way it fades away and then comes back in full force with the climax? hmm i thought i'd try something different which people might like
let me know what i should do different about the main melody to make it sound not that empty according to you

I think if a strong beat in the melody was introduced after a bit, like in Insigma - Open Your Eyes (Insigma Mix) it would really support the song and make it more interesting.

in another track i used that method you mentioned by changing up the beat by a more powerful one, but i think this was the hardest one that would fit the track... i once did put a very hard one in it, but the track didn't progress that well, the beat kinda slowed it down, because it was a hard one.

but if you wanna hear the effect i used in another track, take a listen to this one : wastegate project - dolphina majestica (lightworks deep sea remix)
