Need Ta Input!!! Think About It

Well................I know for the most part, TA's and other heads don't really care about having gogo dancers half the time at shows, and granted there are ALOT of dancers who don't really dance and do look funny up there. As for me, this is my passion, my high, my job, and my time to see everyone going crazy and having fun.

I watch every dancer I see and I watch them very carefully to see if they really feel the music, cause' when I'm up there, everything shuts off and all I do is listen to the beats. Yes I'm scantilly clad half the time, but some of you know, off the stage, I'm very normal and I don't dress like a hooch. Infact, you wouldn't even know I'm a dancer, cause' I don't dress like one.

Anyway..............I want input from people on your take on dancers? We will be dancing at 4th and B for Armin and Hernan and I want to put my group out there and really push it to make sure we provide the BEST entertainment in clubs. Yes the DJ is the main headliner, but I personally think a good dancer who can show love for the music and scene makes the show that much more thrilling. For me, I danced so much that my hair falls down, wigs can't stay on, booty shorts riding my ass, boots I can't move in, but when I see people enjoying our sets, that makes me sooo f-ing happy.

I want to hear what can we do to make your show more exciting. Better dancers, expectations, outfits, anything! I want to known for my skills and earn your respect and admiration for doing something I love and it showing. I want to be the one that other DJ's recommend and say, "this dancer or these dancers, you should request" cause then it lets me know that what I do is noticed. Obviously I can't mix vinyls and create heart stopping tunes (yet!) but I can listen to every beat and push myself that much more for people to keep dancing.

So with that said, again, please let me know what you have to say about me and my dancers. What do you want us to give you during a show, and I will do my best to make it happen. TA's are die hards and I know I am, so I take this business seriously, with a little fun of course!

Thanks,
Desiree

For me, gogo dancers have never had an effect on my night, whether it's good or bad, because it's always been about the music.

I remember at Innercity 1999... or maybe it was 2000, but anyhow, they had some trampoline people that were doing things coordinated, like busting the same flips at the same time. I really liked that thought of doing things in unity. It could be cool if you and ur crew, did like the same dance moves at the same time. Whether that is realistic or not, I dunno, I know it would require much practice etc... But that is something that I think would be cool.

Yeah I really could care less about someone dancing on a podium. lol No offense Desiree cause you are very nice eye candy, and a great dancer...but thats not why I go to a club. Its a nice thing on the side but its not gonna make or break my night.

Other people *cough cough Shafer8* might have some input you're looking for lol.

I think girls dancing in black suits would be effin hot though.

dancers dont make any difference to me in EDM club but im sure its a great addition to the club. plus alot of guys do look for the dancers and do think its a necessity.

but i got an opinion. i would only like to watch a dancer if she knows what shes doing and she knows the music shes listening. i would say that if the dancers know the music they might be cheering the crowd as well. like for example they might stop dancing during a breakdown and pump the crowd somehow for the comeback. plus its good to involve the crowd with you maybe by getting a few ladies up on the dancefloor (i dont know if thats allowed or if they do that already). i would also probably say that getting down the dancing stage and go in the crowd for a few minutes might help as well but i dont know what guys will do to you.

They may add to the environment/atmosphere of the overall club, but (no offense, as Clovis said) when it boils down to it, for me they're just another person dancing in the club.

haha word. but yea it all boils down to rockin the music. and as long as the gogo's are workin it up there I'm not opposed. the couple times I've seen you Desiree, you definatly hold it down, so just keep up the good work.

i agree it is all about the music..but i love go go dancers when the beats are outta control some dancers move in amazing ways which puts a smile on my face even though id love it if they were next to me. the dancer should know the music that is being played and should feel it an have a good time with the crowd..

desiree = socals hottest gogo!

and for the topic at hand it is nice to have the hot girls up there. although more than half the time i am not able to pay any attention to them because the focus is on the music, but when I do look up there it is nice to see girls that look as good as you! i agree with the earlier comment about getting into the crowd and talking to us. it just goes to show that you arent above us as a lot of people who get to entertain at these kinds of things think they are.

the less clothes the better. But if you wan to impress then look at club rubber girls. they are always dress in sexy themes. I think that works. If you dance better then those girls then it would be alot better.

Posted by Boomer187 on Feb-26-2006 00:56:

sometimes is cool when the club is going off to look up at the dancers going crazy and grooving to the beat.

the thing I don't like is when you get some part time stripper up there doing her strip routine and is totally not into it. that I don't like, but I think its more common here in vegas.

in ur case tho, ur into the music and can dance to it, and that always rocks. so I think you and your group is set to make the crowd get into it.

i wish i could give you advice as far as what makes a good go go dancer, but what do i know...i guess all i can say is that the physical, costuming and how natural everything looks makes the difference. if it looks like you're trying too hard...well i don't think it's as sexy...

oh and i'm in love with one of the gogo dancers at our club here hahaha...not only is she smoking hot, but she is actually a really great dancer haha.

ps. desiree...how can i seduce her? hehehe

you and i think alike my friend lol

I think go go dancers definitely enhance the vibe. Those thin, lithe, sweaty young bodies. Yum. What's not to like?

It won't wreck my night if they're not there, but it helps. It's always nice, too, when they're vibing with the crowd rather than doing the thousand-yard stare.

Posted by psychochick on Feb-26-2006 05:38:

I love watching gogo dancers who enjoys the music. You can see it in their faces, their body movements .. they give off this great vibe that help enhance the clubber's overall visual experience. And it also helps when they don't look so stuck up and can smile back when they are smiled at

Dancers can add a world of ambiance and positive vibe. Unfortunately it appears that many of the girls dont really dig what they are doing. They come accross as just really hot girls who know nothing about the artist or care for the style of music.

But when a dancer is on its a beautiful thing.

If I were voting I would ban the fetish costume looking outfits. Ive seen to many club dancers try to out freakish each other. The "Desperate Living" syndrome. Dancers outfits should be classy, sultry, sexy and unique to the local. San Diego is a beach influenced city and I would much rather see girls who personified that look. Girls who look like girls. I am so over the Frankenstein boot look.

Good luck.

Later.

i honestly never pay attention to the dancers at the club. i guess the only reason i've seen you dance is because ahp is so incredibly boring that i just kinda stand there and look around, and your body language was mesmerizing. i never really see anyone get into the music like that. most gogo dancers move 10 beats slower than the music when they're supposed to be keeping the energy going in the room and setting a good dance rhythm. btw i'll never forget the freefall dance

Posted by deslyn on Feb-28-2006 00:18:

I do totally appreciate you all taking the time to read this post and respond because I take it seriously and it irritates me more then anything when I see a dancer moving too slow to the beat, not keeping up with the tempo, and not smiling at all. Though I know at times I often stare off when I'm dancing and not look at the crowd too much cause' I'm "in the zone"....Nevertheless you can see my enthusiasm for the music and I definitely enjoy watching people get down.

I understand peeps don't really care if there are dancers, but you SHOULD. It's like going to a trance show and the dj totally being boring, or this music sucks, what's the thrill in that??? Good dancers get the crowd pumping, keep people on their toes and having them leaving saying to someone, "did you see that dancer" when you know a good dancer is going to be there and be on the same page as everyone else, you would want to go back knowing you're gonna see good entertainment.

Posted by deslyn on Feb-28-2006 00:23:

Thanks Lex for remembering my freefall dance, cause' I don't even remember it!!! All I know is when that track came on, I felt every word and every beat to it. It's one my favorites, I swear I loose myself everytime I hear it and I've always wanted to dance to that song in a huge club!!! Ultimate high!!

Posted by R!CH on Feb-28-2006 00:38:

that's funny cause it looked completely correographed, all i remember is you had a move for every word in that song and it all flowed very naturally with the beat. usually the gogo dancers i see up here don't even enjoy the music they're dancing for, they're just there to get paid and go home.

btw it's not that i don't care if there are dancers in the club, actually even bad dancers are better than none at all. i just don't pay too much attention to the dancers cause i think it's kinda weird and awkward, for me and the dancer, to just watch them all night. the people who do just stand in front of the platform and stare seem like they are just mentally undressing the dancer, or maybe they're just stuck in a k-hole, who knows...

hahaha.

There was some guy in SD at 4th & B staring at one of the girls there...older guy 45+...seemed like he thought he was in a strip joint rather than a club.

Not into it sorry.. but you have a passion for it and thats all that matters
