pendulum - some one trance this up !

listen to pendulum back to u - sample [00:40s] [1.16MB]

What do you think ?

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Feb-26-2006 19:21:

No. Trance producers should come up with their own tracks, rather than remixing everything else.

...and they tell me I'm negative...

Posted by daeus on Feb-26-2006 19:28:

Yea but this is a classic of its own, I think this has potential .

Not really. "Oh look, a perfectly good dance record of another genre! Let's replace the breaks with four on the floor and slow it down!"

What a bloody pointless idea.

Remixes can better tracks immencely.

If you listen to all of pendulums tracks you'll see that this tune "Back to you" is pretty different to the others, its even like a cry from the producers that they want to make some trance.

+ The style of the start of the tune is way different from the usual dnb genre.

Posted by smallSHEEP on Feb-26-2006 20:11:

I noticed you sampled the crapiest part of the song.

I really like this song, perhaps a slowed down breaks remix with all that bass would be better, surely.

Or, perhaps, it's just them experimenting. It's probably not them saying, "Hey... We want to produce Trance now."

seems perfectly logical to me matey!

Posted by [djousa]anta on Feb-26-2006 23:38:

it already is 'tranced up'. that's why it's called 'trancestep'.

Yeah right. This is why we have endless re-releases and updates and pointless trend-whoring mixes by producers who just stamp their own trademarks on perfectly good tracks to cash in. There's nothing wrong with the track as it is- and you should only ever remix something if you can genuinely take it in a new and deserving direction. What is suggested here is "it sounds a bit trancey, so let's just exploit that sound".

Mehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I agree and disagree.

I really, really, really like good remixes of songs. Just honest good production and re-hashing.

I really, really, really dislike--and this pretains more to trance songs-- old trance/dance classics that get "JOEPRODUCER 2005 REMIX."

Other than that, I see nothing wrong with it.

I like remixes that turn a track into something totally new, but at the same time retain something of the original. A remix which is just the original track but in a producer's style is a waste of time. I get loads of singles where the remixes are just bollocks- no effort, no imagination. A simple "hey, that'd be easy to convert" mindset. Yawn.

Posted by chesco on Feb-27-2006 15:59:

I quite like some of the stuff pendulum do.

Hold your colour being a particular favourite

Posted by daeus on Feb-27-2006 23:30:

SYSTEM-J Youur right allot of remixes are bollox but a rare few can, and are turned in to classics.

I've seen your other threads Ribena you seem to love the arguing..

You are clearly on the wrong forum, fool.

what the hell is wrong with making mixes to change genres...

EX.
I like this house song alot but the people at the party only wanna breakdance... Do i play the house version anyway because its "Good as it is" Or should their be another version that this crowd of people might enjoy more.

Or if your a dj and you like a song but find parts of it need reworking in your opinion to get the full effect. That then deems it worthy of a remix.

Now this is the kind of shit i hate right here.
Alice Deejay - Better Off Alone (2006 rework)
No it doesnt really exist thank god but some producers wont let a song go.

Yea, why waste such a good oppotunity.

Anyway any more comments on this tune being remixed specifically ?

Yeah. Silly me for not having a blindly positive opinion on everything, eh?
