Sleep music

I wanna burn a cd for a girl that has relaxing stuff for when she goes to sleep.

I want it to all be beatless stuff but at the same time I dont just want tracks with a few unoriginal string chords slapped together. I want it to be oustanding stuff like "Sasha - Requiem"

so go for it, post some other tracks like that one

I know I'm recommending this like a mother ******, but...

Solar Stone - Chilled Out Euphoria

Posted by meneedit on Feb-26-2006 21:55:

beatless? i doubt it...

edit: but thanks for replying straight away

There are some tunes with the occasional kick drum; just because it remixes stuff like Push doesn't mean it has a four-bar kick. In fact, there really aren't many tunes on it with lots of kicks in it and the ones that have them use them minimally, and you can just take those out of the playlist.

I fell asleep to it all the time. Very easy to sleep to.

Edit: No prob... want a couple samples?

Im actually working on a mix of these type of choons. Im good at merging breakdowns . heres a few tracks Ill be using;

Eugina (Sergasso Sea Mix)
Saltwater (Thrillseekers Remix)
Requiem For A Dream (Leama Ambient Mix)
Greece 2000 (Moonwatcher's Sea Of Tranquility Remix)
Cafe Del Mar (Michael Woods Remix)

For some nice chill out check out Beatport's downtempo section, they have some really nice stuff.

She might like "Windspiel" a musical project I found out about on Beatport a few months back and it's very beautiful guitar based instrumental music, kinda new agey. It's mostly beatless. Perfect sleep music, I listen to the CD often before going to bed or when just chilling out.

There's also a musical project on Balls Of Wax called "Eastern Sun" with some Eastern/Buddhist inspired tunes that are a bit meditative of course.

I used to listen to Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works 85-92 to go to sleep. It worked well.

this and this is very nice

Posted by meneedit on Feb-27-2006 00:08:

thanks for your help everybody

P.S

On a slightly different topic:

I'm just wondering what your absolute fave cafe del mar albums are.

I think volume 7 is pretty good.

Mirco de Govia - Chronoscale, has a coupel good chill tracks. Look into especially "Dayturn", and "Nightscape".

Another favorite track is "Fingathing - You Fly Me". Been lovin that one. Some of the Cafe del Mar cd's have some good chill-out on it too.

I have 19 Cafe Del Mar and Jose Padilla albums, and I'd say my favorite is Dreams Vol 1

Antyhing Chicane get's me to sleep, or I don't know if anyone else had those 'Breakdown The Very Best Of Euphoric Chillout'? Awsome snooze choonz.

Posted by Spirit5 on Feb-27-2006 20:29:

Even though it's not EDM "Nora Jones" puts me to sleep each time I hear her. She has nice music, but it's soooooooo slow and soooooo relaxing that it probably wont keep your attention for very long...not "driving" music by any chance...

Posted by Clovis on Feb-27-2006 20:34:

The new James Holden album is really relaxing, especially CD1.

CD1 of Danny Howells GU 24/7 is nice also.

I heard the new GU Electric Calm V3 was ace.
