pandora.com

Ever since we started the Music Genome Project, our friends would ask:

Can you help me discover more music that I'll like?

Those questions often evolved into great conversations. Each friend told us their favorite artists and songs, explored the music we suggested, gave us feedback, and we in turn made new suggestions. Everybody started joking that we were now their personal DJs.

We created Pandora so that we can have that same kind of conversation with you.

this program was developed by Time Westerngren and he wanted to reveal the musics dna.
now this crazy idea has lead to 8 million and growing radio stasions, the next can becomme youre own personal.
Behind this project lies tons of work and 30 eksperts with minimum 3 yers music education where they have worked over 5 yers and categorised over 400.000 different songs. every tune is not seen in 1 category, but in over 400 so called music geenes categorys.

I myself tryed this and would like other who read this also try it
This program involves mostly all genres, I myself tryed to find something with trance and result was like Ok.. but point of this program is to help ppl that like music discover more music that they never have heard before, but has same caracteristics... example is that if I search Tiesto..or a song, you will get other tracks also that has the same caracteristics, witch helps u discover and like new tracks.. as said this program is very new and the search is maybe not that good, but if we could give it more time and work, I am sure that the searching will be better. I find this roject very exiting and hope for replys hehe

Sounds pretty much the same as Last.fm that I've fallen in love with.

Except that Pandora is only open to US residents as of yet.

Pretty cool...

x-cept...

um, don't really like the music selection and the way it searches... but still really cool and a great idea!
