exactly..

taxes from Buffalo airport: 35-70$
taxes from Pearson Airport: 150$+

absolutely insane if you ask me, although Toronto is just much more convenient and more convincing when I ask my mother to drive me there.. haha

not just taxes, the base price itself is 30-60% lower as well (even with exchange)

I shouldn't have completely agreed with you maybe..haha
yes the flights are cheaper going out of Buffalo, I will agree there.. but I think it also depends on your time frame and exactly how much you will be saving.

I know for me this month, flying out of Buffalo was 500$ cdn but there was no direct flight and they were all 15-17 hours in length due to one or two stopovers. I also would have had to worry about park n' fly and gas to get to Buffalo. Whereas I flew KLM out of Toronto for 750$ and it was a direct fight 6.5 hours and I didn't have to worry about my car or anything else. So for me saving 250$ didn't make a difference, my time is worth more than money.

I guess I will have to see how things look in the summer and hope that Buffalo has direct flights. I would never go anything that wasn't direct to Amsterdam. It just takes way too long otherwise.

^ Not to mention the joys of going through American customs

In general flights have taken a steep increase this summer compared to last with many being an average of $150 more!

My manager was telling me the other day that www.redflagdeals.com was a really good site too, and always had special deals and offers.

wow...that site is really unbeleivable...3 nights/round trip flight to London for 499 canadian, on british airways....that is crazy....the site has been bookmarked.

Buffalo is always cheaper. Whether the difference is worth it or not depends on your schedule, the price variation, and your mode of transportation to buffalo.

When i go to argentina i tend to save 600-900 Cdn on a flight. So definately worth it. Same with Asia, I bought a flight to asia for $900 cdn and the cheapest i could find out of toronto was $1550. Sure there is an extra stop but i see it as getting paid $650 for a 3 hour inconvenience.

Thanks for the help man! Prices are in fact way better than elsewhere!

I refuse to fly airtransat or skyservice. May they rot in the very hell they are from. I'm sorry but saving a few $$ but be uncomfortable (they ram the plane full of seating, leg space? What leg space??) for a 7 to 9 hour flight is just not worth it. I flew direct to Roma from t.o using skyservice and by god imagine a plane full of FOBS (and non stop baby crying) trying to also save a buck, who were praying and clapping when the plane landed back in their home country.

Fly KLM, reasonable prices but much much better service.

Even better... make friends with someone who works for an airline. My best friend lives in Montreal at Delta's call centre.

Buddy Passes!!! We're flying together to the Dominican in 4 weeks for $200-$250 CDN business/1st class. We fly out somewhere for a weekend about twice a year together.

Travel agent friends are good to have as well I hear.

is there anybody who works in a airline who need a good friend???

hahaha.
