Hello! Deep Teeth Cleaning

Has anyone had one? Does it hurt? I have to go this Thursday and Friday to get one done. Half my mouth each day. I would like to get a idea of what im in for.

it ain't bad. feels like they are massaging your teeth.

It doesn't hurt, but your teeth will feel kinda weird after, like they're floating.

its where they clean the tarter from under the gum line. I havent gone to the dentist in 6 years and this will be my first visit. They told me I dont have a lot which is a suprise for someone who hasnt gone as long as I have but I need to get it done.

They explained to to me that they will take this metal pick and dig below the gums and scrach off the tarter. sounded painful to me that is why I ask .

They do a good surface cleaning of the teeth, then they really dig into your gums to try to get everything out from the surface of the tooth, including the parts that are covered by your gum. This involves alot of gum pushing and seperation from your teeth, but gets rid of anything brushing, flossing, and listerineing doesn't get

this is what anothe guy wrote in another forum.

yes it hurts.

badly.

They scrape way below the gums to get them real clean. Lots of blood and it will make you want to break the arm handle off the chair you sit in if they hit a nerve. If you have a really good dentist ask them to go easy on you but they never do.

There will be some blood, but unless you're squeamish, I really doubt you'll have too much of a problem, especially if you've had good oral health in between visits to dentists

some blood and a small amount of pain for a shiny grill, no problem

they dont scrape "below" the gum...that would just be them cutting your gums up. They just clean out the junk in the gumline. The person who told you it hurts is a little bitch.

If you smoke deep cleaning is required Only thing that sucks about it is that toothpaste that leaves a feeling in your mouth like you just ate a dirt sandwich.

i had one done, there was a bit of blood and it didnt really hurt, i was still nervous though. afterwards my teeth felt weird, insanely clean too.

if you haven't gone to the dentist in 6 years i would be prepared for some major pain. sorry but just be prepared for the worst, and demand anestesia when you arrive, ie gas or at least topical.

When he sticks a digit up your butt to distract you just go with it.
