JOOF Recordings proudly present ...

The Digital Blonde - "Synthology"

This is the second in our series of JOOF artist albums. Again we're not asking the artist to come up with any love songs, R&B or anything that�s out of character with their sound!! We want them to express themselves with music that can be played on the dance floor, after all this is what they are known and loved for.

This time we bring you The Digital Blonde 'Synthology'. A production career spanning nearly 20 years, Riki Smith aka The Digital Blonde has certainly proved his worth as one of the true pioneers of Trance. Having a plethora of singles and remixes under his belt he has gained a solid dedicated fan base that amazes us here at JOOF as we have to deal with the fan mail!!

The Digital Blonde phenomena started back in 1996 with the world renowned 'Antheum'. This was championed by Sasha, Digweed and Nick Warren and has become one of the Worlds true classic records of all time. Things didn't stop there, Riki kept rolling out hit after hit, Electra, Mooga and one of the biggest anthems at Gatecrasher 'Legato'.

Taking time out to take care of his new born daughter Sasha and to rebuild his studio (eventually put to rest his Atari ST!!!), Riki soon got to grips with his new Apple Mac and has churned out nine brand new tracks for this his debut album. He even took time to re make his classic Legato especially for this album!!

Lets waste no more time on words as the music here sells itself. Nine pure Trance tracks, Trance music as it should be and we are proud to be apart of this.

The Blonde is back !!!

The last 4. One of them must be the one with the "Lions Weep" vocals, and one of them must be the Trancey Blonde track from another GTG. Dunno which.

Looks good.

However, theres 2 small 'buts' to it all.

1) John said originally it would be 12 tracks Bit disappointed that 1/4 of the original tracks are cut.

2) WHERE THE FUCK IS KARMA???? BEEN WAITING FOR 2 YEARS AND ITS NOT THERE???? Would have thought this would be 100% definate. Im gutted that that one isnt on here

2 1/2) Along these lines, I would much much prefer it if Legato 2006 was dumped and Karma put on instead.

Would love an official announcement as to why Karma isnt on this, I'd say there'll be a bit of an outcry about it.

Ok first week in April. I guess we have a release date, but its still 4 weeks off. Pity, but at least we know now.

Im still really really looking forward to it, dont get me wrong, but I'm looking forward to it less that I was, simply because there are tracks cut (possibly so it can fit on promo CDs, I dont know), and one of my favs (Karma) isnt on there and will now probobly never be released and will be forgotton.

Yah enough with the Legato updates...

I really hope the "trancey blonde" track is in there too, been floating around my head for a while now, just can't get enough of it.

Have great expectations for this, probably the only artist album that would interest me for this year.

The BIG question for me: is it a digital release only?

Nice... awesome to see Karma back on the list. I'm curious to know though what the reason for cutting it in the first place though. Just seems like such a bad decision to have made.

I'd guess that Audiojelly will get it first, as they have an early release contract.

too bad it's download only! would have loved to get a cd. but at least this way there's no reason at all to edit the tracks, so i hope they'll all be full lenght. i'm definitely going to dl the wavs from beatport!
