university fees question
Hi all, I have a question about tuition fees in Ontario.
Could you guys please tell me how much you pay a semester, for how many courses, university and program??
Thank you in advance!
The average fee for an undergrad BA is usually about $500/course, give or take.
So for a normal BA, 5 courses/semester, you are looking at $2500/semester, and $5000/year. I do believe these prices are 'regulated', and are some what standard.
Engineering courses pay more, and I have friends who pay between $5500-$8000/year depending on university, and actual program.
Its 4300/term (5 courses, co-op fee) for ECE engineering at Wloo.
ya pretty much $5000 per year you're looking @ for a full time 5 course year. but i heard tuition fees are slightly going up again come september.
y r u thiking of moving down here??
thank you guys, keep them coming, i need a 4-5 more fees example.

Management (Commerce) @ U of T = ~$8000/yr.
Tuition fees for Arts & Science programs will start increasing in September. Up until now, they have been regulated. Commerce, computer science, and engineering fees have been deregulated for sometime.
9 G's/deregulated program (doesnt matter how many courses u take)/B.Com @ UofT
York: $4862/year, $486.20/course
Pricing breakdown
My courses I take through CGA Ontario (the professional body for CGAs in Ontario) are approx. $450-$550, depending on the course.
^5 Just enrolled in another one. I feel broke all of a sudden!

Engineering at U of T: $3,500.00 per semester with about 5 courses.

Yes
Ah a name brand HBA
Don't get me wrong, it's a good program and 5-10 years ago was worth the premium in terms of job opportunities, but now I'd say you get the same recognition with a BComm from Queens or York.

University of Western Ontario - Undergraduate Engineering : 7 000 $ for the year (ie two 4 month terms)
THANK YOU
Quckie fact..
Management and Computer Science degree fees are de-regulated. So universities can charge as much as they want.
UofT charges just over $600 for 1/2 credit for management, and about $550 for comp-sci I believe. Hence, at at 5 credits, you're looking at $6000 + misc fees of $500-$1000 (ie co-op registration fee, admin fee, etc)

EDIT: I believe the "reasoning" for this is that when you graduate, you make more cash. so you should pay more when you study. What a croc of bull.

btw these fees are simply fucking crazy

I have a question for you guys, is it fair for an Ontarian student to study abroad, let say in the UK, at Ontarian rates, if UK students can do the same when they come to Ontario?
A kind of exchange program, where students from different countries could study a couple of semesters somewhere else at the rate their paying in their home province?
