MDR-V6 Killer? WOAH! Sennheiser HD280 Pro!!

Hi all.

So far, I have mentioned three headphones that I recommended for DJ use..

the Sony MDR-V6
the Sennheiser HD25
the Beyerdynamic DT250-80

Now, I would like to add a new one to that list...

the Sennheiser HD280 Pro..

here, check this thread out!

http://www.head-fi.org/forums/showt...=&threadid=5478

While all of them block out "enough" outside sound for your uses, the 280 Pro blocks out WAY more than anything else, folds a little more than the V6, costs only a little more than the V6, but is slightly bigger. Read the thread!!

haha, I just saw an ad for these babys a few days ago and was thinking "should I ask gluegun about these? They look good...."
thanks for answering before I asked.

Hey Gluegun! I've recently seen the new Sony V900.. Are they any good?

Posted by Gluegun on Jan-24-2002 18:28:

Nah, the V900's and the MDR-7509's aren't really worth it... mediocre sound, and they aren't even made for DJ's...

Just, go with one of these four headphones, depending on your needs and location and budget:

Sony MDR-V6
Sony MDR-7506 (same as v6)
Beyerdynamic DT250-80
Sennheiser HD25
Sennheiser HD280 Pro

^ ditto

Don't worry--the V6's cost lest, are more durable, aren't as bulky, block out plenty of outside sound, etc. etc.

This just means that you have four options that are, ah, audiophile approved instead of three. Which can only be a good thing! That way, you can narrow down exactly what your needs are... and remember, the v6's are cheapest in the US, and sennheisers are cheaper in Europe, generally... so, get what suits your needs in your local price range.

Unhappy

How much will a pair of v6 cost? In this country, I have to get EVERYTHING through Internet order or directly through the manufacturer. Things suck as a DJ here.

Check out these threads about V6's in Singapore.

Oh, and you *CAN* get the MDR-7506's (same as the V6's) locally...

I have the MDR-V6 now for 4 weeks (just start DJ-ing) and i think their pretty good , havent tried other headphones yet but these are fine

Posted by Gluegun on Feb-02-2002 22:22:

Heh, awesome, glad to hear that you like them!

Exclamation

Holy cow, Gluegun, that's awesome help! I really appreciate it. I just KNEW the v6s aren't available locally. Maybe I'll head on down and get myself the 7506s. Oh, I'm a huge fan of your headphone reviews. I'm only getting what is recommended by you because you're THAT good!

Posted by VisionsofPVD on Feb-03-2002 05:39:

Wink

Just to let everyone know, including Gluegun, I just purchased the v-6 and they produce great sound dynamics, and I like the fact that you can actually hear the beginning and end of each bassline. Also, in terms of comfort, I dont have a problem with them at all....They conform to the ears well, and block out excess outside noise ok...enuff for most djs that is....a definite recommendation..

By the way, if you wanna look stylish, then these arent the headphones for you, so just go out and buy those crappy, yet "nice looking" MDR-V700's....but be prepared to be disappointed..definitely not the worth the money....

Credit to Gluegun for the great headfone advice...

Woah! Thanks guys! Geez, I don't deserve all of that...

*blushes*

Well...anyways... make sure that you read the reviews, so that you get the sets of features that are right for you in particular!

Anyways, I'm trying to figure out the extent to which the HD280 Pro's fold... that should be interesting, as I am still fuzzy about how that model folds...
