razr v3 users

I just got this phone, I needed to upgrade my falling apart one, and well I got it for cheap. It's a solid phone, I'm happy with it, but I have a question about the camera menu, why is it that whenever you go into the brightness setting, some little white dot pops up in the menu, is this supposed to be there or is it just a bug, also what sucks is that the camera is 4x, but you can only go 1x, 2x, 4x ...they skipped over 3x. Weird.....hmmm, if you have any wisdom/knowledge into the matter, do englighten the elitist brethren.

the dots you are talking about hit the eft and right arrow keys. I think this is what you are talking about. The camera does suck, but it's better then the sidekicks sucky camera. I am so waiting for a us carrier to adobt the v3i so the price comes down. It ownz the v3 so hard.

Is it possible to upgrade the firmware, and get che camera to do 3x zoom? I mean u can tweak the shit out of those things, even get video recording, I dont see why u wouldnt be able to get that. Do any of you know? And by white dot i dont mean arrow....go to the brightness menu in camera option, and ull see it in the blue bar on the bottom.

Yea V3i is pretty nice, but Im not paying 280 bucks for it, I got mine for 90 which is the most I'm willing to pay for a cell anyway. All the v3c has going for it is a slightly better camera? V3i sucks, its the same exact phone except it has itunes, which i would never use anyway.

Yeah right. There's no way you can "tweak" a phone that doesn't have any video hardware into taking clips.

Yea someone told me u could mod it so it records clips...the kid was way off. I even said how can u tweak a camera which doesnt have the necessities to take clips, how would that even work when it doesnt have the capability to do so. 3x zoom? I dunno, I'd like full use of the fucking thing, what I dont get is why this fucking white spot keeps appearing in the brightness adjustment menu!!!!!1 to hell with u i will pee and shit on u.

Depending on your service provider, you either do have it from the start or you might need to unlock it and then flash it with the latest ROM.

As for the white dot issue, have you checked your manual to see if it mentions anything? (I checked Moto's website and looked at the US manual but there was no mention of said white dot) If it's really getting to you and you can't find how to fix it, go to Motorola's website and e-mail their support.

the newest firmware allows for video recording with sound...

go to howardforums and motomodders

at motomodders get yourself a p2k editor and a hex editor... heres a list of stuff for you

and about the zoom.. its digital zoom not optical. you can just use your favorite graphics editor on the computer to zoom whatver you want, its all the same. by zooming on the camera phone, you are not gaining any resolution or detail. if anything you loose some. the software just does double zooming becuase of simplicity... so 1x doubled to 2, 2x doubled to 4.

You sure you're talking about the v3 and not the follow-ups? Last I checked, it was impossible to do it on the original RAZR.

well mine does it becuase i modded it.. i got it in december 2004 with cingular. i am positive you can get video for the original razr. infact i think the newer razr v3 shipped before the v3i have it.

i unlocked video [altough i never use it] and deletd all uneccessary menus options, games, messenger, cingular branding etc. all in all i freed alittle more than 9mb, made myself abunch of custom mp3 ringtones and changed the outer lcd picture and menu skin

heh. i also have a modded v3 and it's awesome! 7mb free space w/ video. delete all java apps but added mini opera which works very well.

currently running s/w: R374_G_0E.42.10R and flex: GSMV3MXCIN01NA0F5

The zoom (whether 2x, 3x, 4x or 30000x) is useless. It's digital so you'll get the same results by taking a photo without any zoom then uploading to your computer and zomin in on it or enlarging+cropping it.

Ok, now the issue here is I'll be on the phone for 15 minutes talking, out of nowhere the phone disconnects me, and says insert sim card, ...


OK, maybe I now see why people had issues with this phone, it boots me off my call and says theres no sim card. I have to then shut it down completely ane reboot it to use it again. KNobby fuckin thing.

that sucks.. ive never had that problem. is it a bad simcard? or dust? try cleaning it or spitting in it like an oldschool nintendo lol

I have noticed the razr has some bugs but it's a reliable phone.

Try calling your phone service provider & switching it...you should have a 1 year warrantee

Ok cool, yea my sim card was a bit dirty, i cleaned that son off, its cool now...at least one issue out of the way, now if i can just "flex" it ...god im too noob to even know what that is, its reinstalling the OS in cell talk right. What equipment do I need to go through with this?

you need a usb cable for the phone, a new flash file from motox, and www.google.com : )
