Cafe Del Mar.... again

u guys raved on about this tune sooooooo much and then I checked it out ages ago and it sucked ass.

Anyway, my guess is that out of all the remixes there should be at least one decent one.

Which CD5 has the most amount of remixes on it?

There's Cosmic Babys Impression, Three'n One's Remix, Oliver Lieb's Remix, etc. at your disposal, and you say..... Marco V?

Actually, I think the Kid Paul sounds rather primitive compared to the Cosmic Baby Impression. I always loved those singing chords that Bluchel put to use in the track.

The "Three In One" remix is the best! then the "Michael Woods Ambient Mix" wow quite spacey...

Yes, because they're incessant, often unnecessary, and sometimes completely pointless. Have some discretion, for Pete's sake.

well.. i think both sound primitive, and i'm not really a fan of the instruments used in either. KP's just keeps it more to its bare essentials and it has more power as a result, imo.

Kid Paul remix is really poor compared to Cosmic Baby's impression which is one of my favourite remixes.
Apart from that I really love Ivan remix. Really techy remix.

in danger of getting quoted, i think this track yet has too be further improved by another remix..

Yes because you've been here since 2001 and most of your threads are just pointless requests of things which you would have found the answer to by just looking discogs or googling for a few seconds. Stop being such a lazy bum! Put some reason to your threads and posts so maybe then you will get reasonable nonmocking replies.

For the CDM request, there are several slightly differing releases which have 8 mixes on them. The very limited Aussie one on Shock which by a mistake has L.S.G. - Netherworld (Kid Loops Remix) among the 8 Caf Del Mar mixes, the Dutch one on ID&T and a Swedish one on Ministry of Sound and a million other releases with 4-7 mixes. Just look for the one you want as the mixes DO vary alot between releases.

As for the fav version, mine is probably Ralf Hildenbeutel's Porte de Bagnolet Mix.

Cosmic Baby's Impression has long been my favourite, but many of the mixes have their good & bad points. Kid Pauls is reasonable, Oliver Liebs is nice, Nalin & Kane's is pretty good. Marco V & J00F Both showed people how to update tunes, sure they weren't as good as the original mixes BUT they were way more tasteful than most of the new updates we get. The 3 in 1 has been played a bit too much for my liking, and the Hybrid one adds a nice twist.

As far as any one release goes, http://www.discogs.com/release/40959 is the one I own & am proud of.

I'm still trying to find the Cosmic Baby and Oliver Lieb mixes (I own two Caf del Mar singles, so I think I have the right to download the rarer mixes now). Out of the trance mixes I've heard, I have to say that the Kid Paul mix is my favourite. It does sound dated, but it's just constantly melodic, where as many of the mixes have huge builds and loops (J00F's mix is a waste of space), and I love the final third of it. Absolutely love it.

Apart from all that, I'm a big fan of the non-trance mixes: Hybrid's mix is great, and the ambient mixes from Michael Woods and Humate are absolutely brilliant.

my favourite version will still be nalin & kane mixes, but out of the 1993 mixes the porte de bagnolet mix is the best.

i also like the hybrid remix because they did a good interpretation that didn't follow the path of any of the other mixes, and also ivan (oliver lieb)'s techy workout. and humates downtempo interpretation is quite good aswell and also deepsky remix is also quite nifty
