OMG I hate my Stanton C.304
I just bought it today after trying it out and i guess i didn't test it enough. CD players suck. Ok ok maybe i am being a little harsh but these players aren't very good if you want to scratch in fact they downright suck. Do a backspin on this and it sounds the same for every song. It doesn't sound like a backspin either like traktor 1 has a lot better backspin sound then this stanton piece of garbage. Then try scratching the first kick beat of a song it will lose its place. Its aweful. But if you don't scratch, everything else is good. I am gonna keep this as a back up player and get the denon's
Re: OMG I hate my Stanton C.304
Just return them and get your money back?
Then buy some proper ones from pioneer
don't you read reviews from dj gear before you buy it? almost everyone wrote that the cd players from stanton sux. denon cd players don't have good reviews too. go for the pioneers
Denon cd players usually get good reviews. My experience is that the only people who dont like denon are the pioneer-fanboys, and they dislike them simply because they're "not pioneer".
If you're into scratching then definetly go for the denon dns-3500 or 5000.
well man maybe you shouldn't be cheap and buy piece of shit gear?
yeah, you should just take them back... hopefully you didnt get them from ebay or on the internet, because the cost or returning and restocking will basically make it worthless for u to return.
if you mix trance and stuff cdj tt's are cool, but if you're someone who scratches a lot (i'm guessing hip hop), i couldnt imagine using anything other than vinyl. tt's and serato scratch would be perfect for a hip hop scratcher...
bisco
dont mind all the aholes around here (punjabi hasnt gotten any pussy in years)
live and learn bro ~ good luck
hey i got a pair of the stanton 304's and i have had no prob with them at all.they are a great cdj if you do house/trance music.if you are a hip hop,rnd dj keep away from the cdj's all you are trying to do is make yourself look like you are upto date with the market.
(i.e if ppl see me use cdj's they may think im kewl all gangsta and shit) EH NO!!!!!!!!
hip hop & rnb is old skool so treat it like old skool and just keep with fking vinyl.
hip hop djs will get more respect if they scratch with vinyl instead of cdjs.
trance djs dont need to scratch in there sets 9 times out of 10 if they do it sounds crap anyways on cdj or vinyl.
personaly if you are a hip hop,rnb dj id get FS2 or serato for at least you will be using real vinyl.
yeah i am returning it tomorrow and going to get final scratch i have the money too. I have a question which is more reliable though and easy to install.
btw i did read a good review about it and it didn't say anything about backspins sounding so bad
Aren't the CDJ 200s and the Stanton C304's both $399.99 a pair? if so i'de take it back and get the CDJ 200s if it's not too late. If you can't afford an 800 or 1000, then the CDJ 200 is the answer. You wont find anything better for that price....guranteed. Esp if your just doing CDs and not just adding them to an existing set up (and in that case just get final scratch or serato live...) or an inexpensive pair of CDJs, but like I said, the CDJ 200s are good. I should have got them (but I got the CDJ 1000s instead, I had enough money saved....)
dont get final scratch... get serato scratch!!
serato scratch is the most reliable. they have free updates when newer versions come out. the customer support is out of this world.. i have never encountered a company that was soo willing to work with its customers until they are 100% satisfied. today i called the toll free number and talked to a guy who walked me through a couple things to optimize my operating system
serato scratch 4 life!!!

i have decided to keep it cause A) it is still better than cdj-100 and has hot cues unlike the 200 also the 200 isn't on sale at the store i bought the stanton from so i can't exchange for it. whatever. in any event, every day i use the stanton the more i get happy with it. So i guess i needed to get used to it.

I have to say, I'm not a fan of Denons cd players, but as for there mixers, I don't think there bad, I have the X1500 and have put it THROUGH HELL, its on at least 10 hours a day (as I have everything go threw it) and its been like this for well over a year, have had it out in the sun on hot days, and when I had a demo version, I tried my best to get the thing to die, blocking venting gaps, running the thing with everything on at full and the sampler playing over and over, left it like this for days, mixer did not get any problems from it, apart from delayed faders, its a good mixer.
But this is about cd players, the guy has made up his mind, but if you do end up taking it back and trying to get something else, just go with Pioneer, I'm not a fan boy, but there players are great.
