computer help

About a month ago while I was putting a usb flash device into the front port of my computer, a static shock jumped from my hand into the usb port. The computer shutdown and acted strange, so I reflashed the bios and that seemed to fix the problem until recently. Now when I try to open or uninstall a program the computer will freeze for a few seconds then shutdown. I reinstalled the system but its still doing this shutdown thing.

I'm pretty sure the static shock must have damaged something on the motherboard. I built the system myself and its less than a year old. Do you think its the motherboard? Should I tell them what happened or should i play dumb because it would void the warranty?

It does seem like something shorted out on the board.

Since it's under warranty, you should be ok...just play stupid like you suggested.
