Comments as I Listen:
The industrial intro was rather slick... it's perhaps a little too drawn out, though. I do admire the uniqueness in the sound programming department so far...
The kick is hard. Is this suppost to be Tech or Hard Trance? It's walking a thin line on psy as well. Tech Psy-Hard Trance... that sounds about right. These flangy things really scream.
The mix is lacking much of a bassline. This is leaving me to believe that it's more on the techno side of things. The beeping noise says it all. It's a floor smasher.
The gated sci-fi choir for the breakdown was a nice touch, but it didn't help unify the introduction with the rest of the song. Progression, though, is key, and so far I really can't complain. Experimentation is good. The one problem I have, however, is that the breakdown is milked a bit to me at the moment. I can't really put a finger on it, but something else might have been necessary to keep it alive.
The vox screams are back. Good mix, mate... This is more techno than trance... but never fear. We trance-heads are open minded to our techno brotheren. Good work, and keep it up!
Definite psy-trance feel to it. The kick and sound programming say it all.
Thanks for some words. Glad you enjoyed it. I think of my stuff as psy-trance. I often hear the it has a tech edge or needs more bass bacause my basses tend to be metallic scrapes. I used to love techno and plastikman etc are faves, so it's not that surprising it's in there too a little. Personally though I think of my stuff as psy, but of course try not to get hung up on labels. I just try to make it fun on psychadelics. Oh . . . I guess that makes it psy
pretty psycadelic stuff in the intro
.
the kick could need some serious hefting up to do and the bassline needs a sub line! the break is pretty wicked with that unusual pad (to me). the kick comes back quite unprepared, maybe you should do some kind of build up? i would really like this track with a deep bassline and a good melody some how
. good stuff
You know, cola, that's not a bad idea. A sub line . . . that appeals to me.
