Fire Pat Quinn Thread

PAT QUINN SHOULD DEFINATLEY BE GIVEN WALKING PAPERS AS HE IS NOT HELPING A TORNOTO TEAM THAT IS ALREADY FALLING APART.

Posted by Stereo Mada on Mar-04-2006 02:57:

toronto isn't a good team with or without pat quinn

Posted by evil_cookie on Mar-04-2006 03:09:

Pat is a great coach, he's proven himself year after year. Toronto is falling apart because of their lack of teamwork as of late; a coach can only do so much.

Anyway i'll be cheering on the sens this season more so then ever. As for the leafs...they'll wake up eventually.

i agree fire his ass. his strategy sucks. i watched him do it with team caanda, if it doesnt work with some of the most talented players in the league on one team his strategies deffinately wont work for the leafs. fire his ass

Posted by DMUZIK on Mar-04-2006 03:13:

ya QUINN did a great job at the Olympics too !!PLOW!!!!!!!!

Obviously he is not capable of much wheather he's coaching some of the best players in the world ie: Torrino or coaching the leafs who have enough skilled players to at least compete on a nightly basis. He had no control or leadership of anything he touches these days.

You seriously think by firing Quinn and hiring a new coach, that it's gonna change anything? lol... the Leafs suck period! and with a new coach, it wouldn't change anything. They need to get rid of a few (waste of money) players, DOMI! That will solve everything

GO SHARKS GO! :

quinn is only one guy and hes not going to get fired. look at the sabres head coach, lindey ruff...he's been there for a while and buffalo wasnt always a good team. as i remember, they havent made the playoff for a long time, like 3 seasons is it? but the fact is that he's still there.

they have to play as a team, and they arent playing as one...so they arent going to win

i feel theres gonna be some trading soon

he needs to go
i was saying this a while back

I agree he needs to go.

watching team Canada this year SCREAMED, SMACKED, BREATHED (ETC ETC) Leaf hockey... yeah yeah many guys didnt step up, but besides that it was leafs hockey to a "T".

Posted by Dufouria on Mar-04-2006 05:19:

he has SHIT ALL to work with.

Posted by Spin Laden on Mar-04-2006 08:00:

I think he's about to be toast now. They couldn't fire him before the olympics, especially if he'd turned around and won the gold.. would have made the leafs brass look more foolish than it already is (refs Allison, Lindros acquisitions and losses of Niewendyk and Roberts).

maybe, I don't think the players believe in his system and have just givem up...but then again it's not like there is much talent on the team

He may be a great coach, but how have the leafs made out since he has been coaching them. Look at the playoffs year after year, they always fall apart. Which generally is the result of bad coaching.

Toronto does have a good team, a good mix of veterans and young players. Mind you they o have some new players this year that were just wrong for the team, Lindros for example. They have the talent, but Pat is not getting through to them.

Great coach or not it is still time for a new coach. And I'm not even a leafs fan.

GO OILERS GO

o.k i fucking hate this argument about roberts and nieuwendyk. they play a handful of games during the year and are ALWAYS injured. How would they help at all?

Quinn is a good coach and it doens't matter what anyone says he'll be in the hall of fame as a coach in 4 years after he retires. There is a limit what a coach can do and it's the players playing the game that are responsible for the results in the end. Leafs are doing poorly because of the way the players are playing the game, without any motivation. Now that is what Quinn should be responsible for, changing the players attitutes and motivation which he's not at the moment. I'm sorry but when you have guys like Clark Wilm, Nik Antropov, Wade Belak, Tie Domi, Chad Kilger, Alex Khavanov, you're simply not going to do very well. When Darcy Tucker is the team's leading goal scorer, it also tells you something about what kind of the year a team is having. It's time for some rebuildment in Toronto. Leafs have traded way too many young prospects over the years to try to build a Stanley Cup contender team. They've tried several times, they were close several times, but now they're stuck without both, a Stanley Cup winning team and no superstar young players such as Rick Nash or Alex Ovechkin. And that deal for Owen Nolan with the Sharks all of the sudden doesn't look so well. Remember Brad Boyes Toronto? That's what you get for trading the team's best young prospect with a 1st rounder for Nolan, and where's Nolan now? You can't just give up on your youth like that. Bottom line, both Quinn and Ferguson must go. It is time for a change in Toronto!

yeah, well those two mother f* seem to always peek against Ottawa in the playoffs. Toronto's not as gritty as before, unless Lindros can somehow get reinvigorated again. Since I'm from the west coast, Vancouver's my team!!!

Posted by Dufouria on Mar-04-2006 22:58:

they wouldn't have made the playoffs regardless

Posted by -=ryancoke=- on Mar-04-2006 23:49:

I say get rid of him and sundin. I think toronto needs a shake up. It's obvious that they're not getting any closer to a cup with the direction they are heading in. my $0.02

Posted by Spin Laden on Mar-05-2006 00:10:

Well, they still have a quarter of their season remaining so who knows? Toronto maybe missed the boat on the new NHL, unlike Buffalo, Carolina and the Rangers, who have gone to quicker teams, and have gotten results because of it. Those Leaf bastards could still make the playoffs and then knock out the Sens in the first round
