What are you guys using for percussion?

As the title, what are you using for percussion in your productions? I am currently using Reason redrum though rewire into cubase and would like to try something different. Thanks.

I use just samples in my FL Studio, that is the best drumcomputer you can imagine

ill sometimes add some percussions from outside.. especially when im making breaks (its really fun). there you need some quality snares and kick's.. but i cant seem to find hats :S good ones then.
so es... i juse fl samples most of the time . they have some goodies but kicks and snares i use are often non fl.

yeah agreed,
I've tried several things to make my drumpatterns but nothing beats fruity for drums. I end up importing the midi file for my drums in logic and creating an exs instrument for the samples.

The Redrum sampler in Reason. I love it.
If you want more control, use the NN-XT sampler.

How can I use Reason Refills by Cubase/Logic ??

Posted by Storyteller on Mar-05-2006 16:00:

only reason can use refills.

What you can do is rewire reason to cubase.

Battery for me ... love the tight sound it has ... and thinking about using energyXT for producing loops within logic

Lives standard plugin Impulse...
Just as good as ReDrum, or even better?

Battery 2 or individual samples in Fruity sampler, depends whether I'm using Cubase or FL

I'm old school.

Emu E-Syth ultra hardware sampler...

It's a shame creative killed their hardware line when they bought the company...

No, the PCI card version doesn't cut it.. :-P

I've been messin around with Rebirth and ReNovator lately. For those who are not familiar with this combo, with ReNovator you can use Rebirth as a sampler by importing samples and creating a kit. Then when playing a loop in Rebirth, you can choose that kit, and then you can use the randomize function, to create new and unique patterns. Then export the loop into wav.

FL 6 mostly with Vengeance Club sounds 1 samples. Deleted most of my samples today though as there is no point having somthing like 200 closed hi hats claps or what ever. Just seems to take for ever going through them so now I have about 20 of each and I'am more inclined to tweak them to my needs.
