RickyM & Nomen Nescio present <R.N.M> - Stargliding

Nice pic eh?

Ok guys, this is the second collab from Menno and myself, after Cosmic.
It's another driving, melodic trancer with a big strings breakdown. We had some murmurs of interest from a couple of labels, but heard nothing since, so we decided to share the full track.

Here it is: Stargliding 320kbps

136bpm

All feedback is welcomed

Menno & Rick

Very nice tune!
Got me thinking back to something around 2003.

Is the projects name (R.N.M) or just R.N.M? I Can't fit () in the mp3's name " ( = < "

Very good work!

Keep it up!

Peter

typing while listening.
nice kick in the beginning.
nice background lead at 1:30.
nice melody at 2:20 harder kick was expected... sounds a bit soft.
4:00 f*cking love it man!
emotional leads are so beautyfull.
5:02 ow yeah baby nice building up of the tune love it!
again i expected a harder kick, the kick sounds a bit soft maybe you could fix that?
6:23 love the extra lead thing you gave it.
the bassline is sexy.
outro is good.
the only thing imo you need to fix is a harder kick, it will make it perfect! keep up the good work, (another one for my collection)

the breakdown is jawdroppingly good
gorgeous melody and harmony.. great stuff, thanks for sharing.

Posted by richg101 on Mar-05-2006 21:34:

hey guys!

well done. really well mastered.

great kick.

build i found somewhat dull ill be honest - i wanted some new sounding percs - some dirtiness maybe. it didnt really prepair me for the BEAUTIFUL melody you present in that lovely breakdown! loads of emotion and a really fresh and un typical trance melody!

synth choice was also a pleasant change.

track repeats...>

2.25 - this starts to get going as a build. i like it now but it could do with a bigger drive maybe.

really nice melodies and emotions. clean production and great master.

id love a version using less typical percs but thats just being picky lol

well done guys! and cheers for the 320kbps

i have one word for this: InFuckingCredible

Posted by Nomen Nescio on Mar-06-2006 01:54:

Thanks guys for all the feedback and compliments so far. Things like infuckingcredible and jawdroppingly good is what makes our days haha. We also both felt the track was something special when we started to work on it and it went pretty smoothly and quickly.

Richg101, at least you got surprised during the build down. Sometimes the build up of a track already gives away 75 percent of the tune now you were surprised and we were really trying to give our audience a memorable breakdown

We agree on the kick being not exactly what the track needs, we have tried a lot of variations but this was the best one in combination with the bass. Notching up the volume of the kick resulted in a bit of a distortion

And Speactra the name is it is an insight joke of Rick and Me but you can just write it as R.N.M if you want

Thanks again people! Keep the feedback coming

Very solid work guys. Impressive.

Awesome work you two ****s! Really love the strings in the start of the breakdown.. especially the very bassy part.

I like the clap you've used, it sounds reverse/gated kind of.. just a different way of laying the perc down.. the kick drum is also kind of nice too.. bassline is pristine and the chimes that come in every now and then sound really complimentary

good job guys

ricky m loves the cock

listening

plus
i like the kick.. especially when it changes
nice acid sound
nice chants
the break is very nice and strong..

minus
percs are very low in the mix..
5:30 loses power in the bass..
lacks the extra tension in the notes to keep it interesting..
breakbeat could have been added at another part

Posted by Nomen Nescio on Mar-06-2006 19:26:

Thanks Riialto for the positive feedback, we are looking forward to hearing a set of yours in which you spin our track

Subtle, this time you are at least more positive than with Cosmic Thanks for your review mate!

Unbelievable track....totally a record I'd buy. The only thing I noticed, not sure if its me, my comp, monitors, etc. but I haven't had any problems with my setup yet............in the intro, the very light percussive/bassy/pluckish layer that fades in seemed a little glitchy sounding at first, but sounds fine knowing it is layer. Just the introduction of it sounded like clicks/pops. Sorry not to be more specific in describing that. Also the kick in breakbeat towards the end could use a little more bottom end, but throughout the whole track the kick works fine........ other than that....awesome track...very emotional and inspiring.

Nice tune guys! Solid melody and really nice work in the breakdown. The sprinkly high-freq sounds add nice sparkle but are a little overused I think. Acid line does the job of keeping the rhythm moving along nicely.
Everything is super-clear in this production, although as Subtle pointed out some energy is lost around 5:30. Excellent synths throughout. Overall a top tune guys! Me gives two thumbs up (y)(y)

Posted by RickyM on Mar-07-2006 12:10:

Thanks subtle, barry, illumin + Mr Pho-mo, glad you like the track .
We will take the comments on board.

Lookin forward to your reaction kopi

Hey...

Its a really strong track... the breakdown is really really good, its the thing which I like the most in the track. All of the sounds are really clear, great production!! The main melody is well constructed...

After 2:50 when one additional melody kicks in its just pure trance bliss for 30 seconds... Great work!!!!

Cheers, Lakeus

Wow! This is a really well produced tune, very clear and crisp! I like it alot!

What programs did you use to make it?

Cheers!

Posted by Nomen Nescio on Mar-07-2006 20:58:

Partner in crime Rick and I are very happy with the reactions!

Jawdroppingly good, infuckingcredible, excellent, unbelievebable, solid, awesome, great : those are some of the comments we have received so far and which we were aiming for Glad to see you people enjoy our track as much as we did making it

Biobooster, we used FLstudio as a sequencer and also some of the plugins in Fl Studio and a bunch of the well known VST's such as Vanguard and V-Station. Also we master our track in a wav editing environment using a couple of big mastering tools layered on top of each other.

Cheers people!

This is truly an amazing work. This song is epic, contains real emotions, and the more I listen to it; the more attached I get to it.

Seriously; this track shows what trance is all about; and the extra effects, like the stars, only emphasise it.

Superb work guys
