My friends throwing a keg house party

Dans house has a 7500 square foot basement, where the main action will be. We're bringing in roughly 10,500 watts of sound, plus lights and shit.

Now, Billings, Montana, where I live isnt exactly privy to house and trance music.... I seriously doubt people will know how to "react" to it since its never really been heard here before.

My question is, can anyone suggest some tracks which i can incorporate into a mix which will break people into the music so the tracks I already have planned out later in the night wont go "kaboom" on our guests?

more uptempo housesque, but still having some groove on it kinda tunes would be appreciated. Nothing Depeche Mode, Son Kite, or anything atmospheric please.

thanks in advance.

If it's a keg party, you can't go wrong with The Prodigy.

7,500sf basement?!?!?! which financial company is his father CEO of?

a 7,500sf house around here would cost 1.5m++.

7,500sf basement usually means a 12ksf house. damn.

with that money, just get the sedish house mafia to play the damn event.

He probably ment a 750 sqft basement and or a 7500 sqft house

that you mean his house is ... simple math
7500 for basement
7500 for main floor and
7500 for upstairs.
a 22500 house... possible...but sketchy

also if i has a basement that size it wouldnt be a keg party
it be a rave with 10 cover... LOL

Seriously, i think Swedish House Mafia is the best suggestion until now...play the mafia dawg!

Posted by SlickT on Mar-07-2006 18:12:

lure people with the hip hop. when they're drunk you can play whatever. i would probably go with the swedish stuff.

I had this same problem awhile back, but managed to actually keep people happy by throwing in a pop remix every other song.

Kelly Clarkson - Since U Been Gone (Jason Nevits Mix)
Pussycat Dolls - Don't Cha (Kaskade Mix)
Jewel - Stand (Markus Schulz Club Mix)
Dirty Vegas - Walk Into The Sun (King Unique Mix)
The Killers - Somebody Told Me (King Unique Mix)
The Killers - Mr. Brightside (Thin White Duke Mix)
Gwen Stefani - What You Waiting For (Thin White Duke Mix)
Ashlee Simpson - La La (Sharp Boys Vocal Mix)
Britney Spears - Breathe On Me (Jacques Lu Cont Mix)
Eric Prydz - Call On Me
Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out (Hoxton Whores Mix)
House of Pain - Jump Around (Hoxton Whores Mix)
Hoxton Whores vs. Cream - Sunshine Of My Love (Club Mix)
Yes - Owner Of A Lonely Heart (Max Graham Sidechain Remix)
Dire Straits vs. Deep Dish - Flashing For Money (Sultan Remix)
Kylie Minogue - In Your Eyes (Saeed and Palaash Remix)
Madonna - Hung Up (Stewart Price Mix)
Gorillaz - Feel Good Inc. (Stanton Warriers Mix)
PQM - Babe I'm Gonna Leave You
Size DDD - Nobody Listens To Techno (Deep Dish Remix) -- Eminem Acapella

All of those went over pretty well, and allowed me a little leeway in putting a couple of real house tunes in as well.

It's a keg party in Montana. Play hip hop and frat rock.

UNKLE.

God, I'm reccomending a lot of UNKLE lately.

UNKLE!

(preferably Psyence Fiction or Big Brother Is Watching)

use the tried and true SANDSTORM!!!!!

yessssssssss, do it! its the perfectly cheesy popular trance track to get them comfortable with the tempo and the synths. then follow up with veracocha - carte blanche, or something epic/uplifting.

or go the path of New Order - Confussion, whatever your tastes be.
