general question

this is not for me. but i was wondering if anyone knew where one can look for acting gigs in toronto? commercials, videos, small roles. anything really. does anyone know where u could look for something like this?

Conventionally, you would need an agent to find roles like this as they are not advertised to the general public. Agencies will scope out different roles and then pass on scripts, etc. to their clients whom they feel are best suited. It's a lot of work for the most part - you need a press kit that would include photos and some kind of resume. Getting into stuff like that is more difficult than it appears.

yeah but the problem is theres soo many shady agencies out there. how do u know which one is legit.

what abt independent film making? what is a good way to connect/netowrk with these ppl? other then myspace.

Eric, I'll ask my cousin for you. She does a lot of independent plays in Toronto and has had some commercial work. She took acting classes for a long time and it's starting now to pay off. She has a reputable agent, I know that much. I'll get back to you.

Eric dude, I don't know if its what you are looking for but there are constantly ryerson kids looking for actors in their productions.
When I hear about them I will forward them your way.

Only problem is with students it is a bit touch and go with which productions are great and which ones are a bit lackluster.
