Red face [Breaks] Al Azar - Kooky Monster (Full 192)

Seems like our post was wiped out in the database error as well, so:

We present you the latest offering from the ever-consistant line of Al Azar works...

Al Azar - Kooky Monster (7:42, 192kbps, 10.5MB)

Breaks with acid and general sonic madness. Left a bit rough on purpose.

Bring on the flames...

Great title

Bassline sounds very good, there is nice "flow" in this track, can't say anything bad about it really. Good work!

Cool beggining with somewhat acoustic sounding drums. It sounds awesome when the kick comes in since it fits the rest of percussion very well. The bass suits the rhythm section very well...spot on. And now on to the break, aaahhh acid sounds are making a comeback, which is very evident in this track. Great TB-303 style riffs (what did you use for this?). The acid sound is just amazing, flows well and has an analog depth. The second short break comes in and features some more ambience and effects. I like it. It again goes well with the rest of the track. The high pitched synthesizer is exciting, brings the sense of urgency and a must-listen to the track.
Very well executed design.
Regards
Effero

wickked Nik. love the acid =D

I think some filthy vocals would fit this very well. It still needs some filling ups in the beginning . Some atmospheric stuff.

Yeah, I thought about some vocal snippets here and there but couldn't really find anything suitable.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. 2006 looks very, very good for Al Azar right now...

Overall I would rate it a C minus - OK, not great.

LOL at the name , I have always loved the cookie monster .
It is a nice tune to dance, nothing memorable, but very good for to move, I will save it for the gym, keep it up .
Kopi =o.

Lol, yeah, I wanted the title to have "monster" in it but the only thing I could think of was Cookie Monster... so Mart twisted it to Kooky Monster and it's just perfect

nice tune man,

i love breaks...

when the acid line comes up it sounds like a rush. this could be soundtrack for the fighting scenes from the blade movies.

somehow the beat sounds a little bit to smooth to me, i would even like the track more with some edgy hybrid'ish drumwork.

alltogether i realy like this one
i will add it to my nu-skuul breaks folder .

greetings, niklas.

Nice building, energy-wise.

Acid is #1.

Nice track in general. Good work.

One thing that stood out about this track when i was mixing it with other breaks tracks earlier was that the snare isnt as beefy as my other breaks tunes.

Other than that its ace!

Interesting point. I was deliberately trying to get a slightly different sound to the percs than in other stuff that's out there at the moment. I'm not particularily keen on the wave of nu-skool stuff that's around at the moment.

Here's an "interesting" tidbit - I actually used a reverse reverb on the snare, you can hear it in the intro if you listen closely

Excellent breakbeats in this, something I've never been any use at. The acids are excellent too, reminded me of Hybrid - Finished Symphony a bit.
Good work guys

Lol, that sounds a bit far fetched
Then again, being compared to Hybrid is never a bad thing.

Haven't posted in a very long time cuz of the noobs that have infested TA. However you did a fantastic job with this song so I had to post. The build up is amazing. Congrats on the great work of art!
