Criticism, Grammar, and Expanded Vocabulary banned from TA

And apparently with mod (even owner) approval.

It is incredibly unfortunate to me to see these bannings occur. While we've all seen that TA is good for cock jokes, flame wars, and making fun of Tiesto, I recently made the mistake of assuming that a logical discourse critiquing certain aspects of an event, track, producer, dj, etc. Unfortunately, this is clearly not the case.

Due to last nights database error, the thread is pretty much back to the way it should have been prior to certain TA's deciding to continue being upset over the content of my posts. Now, not only did I never once say that the event or talent was bad, but also each and every one of the posts I made in the thread was carefully worded so as to make my point and not incite a flame war.

Apparently, however, certain TA's who aren't moderators are allowed to decide what is and what is not appropriate content for a thread, and were quite visibly upset by my comments with really no logical reason as to why they took issue with exactly what I had initially criticized. As opposed to leaving it be and simply not acknowledging it, it was made into an issue. An issue, that in fact, was likely the reason for TA's database error last night.

And in what had to have been the single most unfortunate part of the entire experience, the owner of this forum decides to throw his two cents into the ring with:

Now, when I read the thread I don't see myself "bickering," but rather trying to reasonably defend my position regarding an event in the sole existing thread for said event. The incredible lack of class, understanding, and reading comprehension skills that I have witnessed over the last day in the above mentioned thread are both startling and saddening.

Now I realize this post is more than 20 words long, so some of you may have a hard time grasping it. To summarize:

- Well articulated, logical, and reasoned criticism or commentary on an event/artist/* is not allowed on TA. Please stick to flame wars and other inflammatory statements meant to ellicit responses of "Oh Snap!" from the peanut gallery.

The forum went down because I went to restore that thread SPECIFICALLY because Melly deleted it and I wanted it back. I extracted the posts/thread from the database but fucked up when I forgot to turn off the 'DROP IF EXISTS' clause which removed all the posts/threads before importing. So, in essence, I caused myself a lot of headaches in order to restore the thread where you voiced your mind so now I removed access to delete threads in the WMC forum so this crap doesn't happen again.

I told all of you to 'stop your bickering' amongst Melly/ClubGOddess/etc. in that thread, I didn't choose sides. It becomes 'bickering' when you're both going back and forth on the exact same points and nobody is gaining any ground, let it go. So before you start speaking negative about me get your facts straight.

Do you seriously believe all of that? That you really didn't pick sides and that you really didn't single me out in the thread? Sorry Del, but you named me, and only me, and that's absurd, because you knew from the get go that the FLTA's would be all over that like flies on shit.

I'm glad you restored the thread, and I appreciate the fact that you went to such great lengths to get it back, but the point isn't the work you did to restore the thread, the point is that it should never have gotten to the point it did.

if Mel had chosen to simply accept what was put forth as a valid opinion that was in no way derogatory or negative about her event or "friends" who are playing, and not address it, this never would have occurred. However, she chose not to, and rather than have her decide to villify me as a "hater," I chose to clarify my point in what I feel was a completely reasonable manner. I had even given up on the thread until Clovis came in attempting to defend me and Mel and Co. decided to further attack me.

And for the record, feel free to show me exactly where I said anything negative about you, even in this thread. All I did was respond to what I thought was an unnecessary and irrational post, and if perhaps you're alluding to the "lack of class" comment, then perhaps yes, I was address the fact that you chose to solely address me and no one else, which I view as lacking class.

This isn't an attack on the mods, or the authority here on TA. I appreciate the amount of bullshit you all have to go through to deal with this forum. This is, however, specifically addressing a single incident in which I feel things got way out of hand and could have been avoided quite easily. I should like not to see it again.

I'm fairly certain that my "facts" were accurate.
