anyone been to sol?

hey ya'll...i saw that AXWELL (woot!) is gonna be at sol may 5th. has anyone been here? what's the venue like? i will be done finals that weekend, so i gotta be there to rep the swede mafia! any info would help, thanks...

Sol in NYC? I went there for Sharem Jey a few weeks ago. There was no promotion so, literally, there were 40 people there the whole night. And none were dancing.

Besides that, the place itself is pretty damn dope. I like it.

There was promotion. The east side productions crew was throwing that party. Andy Z etc...

haven't been to Sol yet but I have heard that the sound leaves much to be desired. I remember seeing the space featured on an MTV show last year when it was called Ruby Falls, and it looked like a more upscale type of place.

What kind of music does Axwell spin?

I like SOL - very beautiful but def should go there with a group of friends and people can be a bit aloof inside. The sound system makes me think of Table50 but more "space" in it. It should be good for house music. I thought it was okay but nothing extrodinary (like Love's )

they need better promotion then... and the format of their emails really sucks...

Exactly. I went there knowing that there wouldn't be many people there. But I didn't expect the crowd to be less than 50 people.

GOOD STUFF! he is part of the swedish house mafia, along with steve angello, sebastian ingrosso and eric prydz....so if you know their sound (minus eric's "call on me") then you pretty much know what axwell will sound like

I haven't been there cuz of the comments I heard about the sound. I guess I have to give the place a chance and check it out sometime. They've had really good stuff going on lately.
