to watch the video click

Posted by chojin on Mar-10-2006 12:36:

i was reading in the sun today about how the word 'black' had to be cut from the baa baa black sheep nursery ryhme to avoid racism...

its now known as rainbow sheep.

no BS.

UK wins \o/

Posted by slinkyhead on Mar-10-2006 12:41:

different words have diff levels of offense in diff areas. Personally i think it's all stupid, bloody isnt even a swear word anyway.

personally i couldnt really give a fuck, pretty much every Aussie i have ever met has serious complex issues about the UK, thinking we really care if you stay in the commonwealth etc, we couldnt give two shits if you remove the British flag from your flag or get a president instead of our queen.

p.s. good video tho but this is the one that hasnt been banned

Posted by Grrrrr on Mar-10-2006 12:41:

They had to change Big Ears' name from the Noddy books/tv programs so as not to cause offence to some people.

I'm not coming back into this thread because all the political correctness bullshit really winds me up!

Posted by slinkyhead on Mar-10-2006 12:43:

political correctness and sue society are the two things that really piss me off

That really pisses me off too, we're turning into America at a worryingly fast rate. The cases that really astound me are when burglars sue after they injure themselves in someone elses house. It's pure insanity

PS. I changed my mind i'm staying in this thread i've got a football game soon and i usually play better when i'm pissed off.

Posted by slinkyhead on Mar-10-2006 12:54:

lol, the thing is 99.99% of people dont get offended by that. like places changing the name of Christmas Lights to Festival Lights or some other shit like that, i bet Muslims and stuff dont get offended by seeing the word christmas, jesus what do they expect in a Christian fucking country

The thing with australia is when they tried to have a referendum to get out of the commonwealth half the people couldnt care less. Then other people jumped on the "oh noes they are going to change the flag, my dad fought in the war under that flag"
Theres a huge number of the population that are in their older stages of life, they let this affect their vote.

maybe that plays a bit of a role but tbh i think most Australians are happy with the current situation and a bit minus against the so called Republican model must be looking across at the US and the way their President is set up.

I'm not exactly Royalist but here in the UK would much rather a royal head of state with little polictical agenda rather than an all powerful President. the thought of President Blair makes me feel ill.

also a side-note, i know i mentioned commomwealth but i was uder the impression that the 1999 referendum wasnt over leaving the commonwealth but actually about becoming a republic.

I think it might have been but i still remember listening to old folks saying its not fair to change the flag ect in 99 i was only a spring chicken

thats common practice now. I cut myself at work and went to the first aider/first aid box and we had no plasters, told i wasnt allowed one. So i walked the 5min walk to the hospital, to ask for a plaster.

Same happened when i got dust in my eye, eye wash isnt allowed in the first aid box. Basically theres 13 miles of bandadge and some scissors. daft.
