Direct Connect Minimum Sharing

Hi, has direct connect regular user, i have troubles connecting to hubs due to not having the minimum sharing. Has i only got 20 gigs, i cannot have that amount of memory.. i already seen/read that exists some "hacks" that can cheat the info about the amount shared.. does anyone have/know about it ?
