How many people in the Chill Out Room....

Produce music?

Just wanted to know, as I don't see that many people here in the producers forum posting stuff, or the production forum. And by producing I mean at any level

I've dibble dabbled with some production....

mainly just me recording myself on guitar and then playing over it so it sounds like 2 or 3 guitars going in one song.

I want to produce someday! I wanna produce downtempo. I just don't have the $$ or patience to do it, and I don't have a huge amount of musical background, just a few years on the alto sax in middle school, a beginning piano and a music theory class in high school, but nothing extensive. I think I know enough about the music though that it might not be that hard, but it certaintly would take time to learn all the ins and outs of it.

i honestly think downtempoish and ambient type stuff is some of the hardest stuff to produce well

When I eat lots of bean I produce music au naturale.....

I produce, when I have the energy. Nobody likes my music though, it's not generic and bland enough for the masses. Or maybe i suck.

Do you ever stop being funny?

I try to produce... close to $20K invested into studio and no fruits as of yet. So, it's been a bad investment thus far. Time vacuum + constant headache from re-arranging stuff + inability to finish a track. That's my "producer" lifestyle.

hey but it keeps me (somewhat) sane and my local gear dealer (and ebay) in business.
