Stanton mixers

Hey

Im wondering how good are Stanon M304 and M505. Has anyone ever tried them? How good they are?

Iv been looking to buy one of the new stanton mixers. Im guessing they would be of decent quality and the SST stuff sounds gimicky but it also sounds like it might be good. I dont think any TAs have got one yet. Your best bet is to ask a few music stores and test them out. Once i get the money ill be buying one for myself. Looks like its going to be a while because its second/third on my list. If you buy it tell me how it goes.

I own the M304, and I must say I'm not wholeheartedly impressed with it. The upfaders are my main gripe with it as they seem to have a sharper than normal curve, so in the top 3/10ths of the fader you need to be very gentle during transitions. Compared to my friends Vestax PCV 175 it's not as nice to mix on. The EQs, kill switches and seperate channel LEDs are quite nice though. I've never had any faders leak on me yet, but I wouldn't expect them to after having the mixer for only a few months, so I can't really put it down to whether the SST actually works.


I'm going to take the plunge though and start saving for a Nuo4 I think, I'd like the option to add some midi capability into my sets soon.

Do you think that the RM range may be different?

the m.303 looks nice, but with use, these are my comments:

- the EQs knobs are all funny. they're kinda rubbery and sometimes sorta bend, not giving you the precision you want.
- the volume fader curve is too harsh in the top 3/10th's, as someone already mentioned
- the paint around the fader area will may start to peal and look bad after a while.

By the reviews so far im already definitly not getting one of these but i am still looking into the rm version.
