De Niro or Pacino?
I know this was done last year but it wasnt a poll so couldnt really see who won. A while back id have gone for De Niro on this but watching more and more Pacino films hes just fantastic, even if he does spend most of his time shouting. His performance in Heat is just masterclass.
So, debate reopened!
de niro's had more oscar nods and has been in the better films
This is a great debate!
My pick is De Niro because of Casino, Goodfellas, Cape Fear, The Score and of course Heat.
Crap this is tough though......Pacino pwning the dean in Scent Of A Woman, I love that.
dinero has been in A LOT more "better" films than al (taxi driver, raging bull, goodfellas, godfather part 2, deer hunter, the untouchables, a bronx tale, casino, heat, jackie brown, etc.) BUT al pacino's SCARFACE is better than all those put together so i gotta say pacino.
ps - i dont like meet the parents/fockers or analyze this/that
De Niro. Only thing i can think of Pacinos that I really like is Scarface.
both those guys are pure class. i love watching their classics. but i'm not sure who to pick between the two.
i did enjoy however, the pacino/deniro diner scene in heat where they act opposite each other for the first time on celluloid. did u know? when michael mann approached both pacino and deniro for their respective parts in the movie Heat, neither knew about the other's participation?

all of which, i think, combined with Scarface, make Pacino just a tad bit better.
I would have to say Pacino, Why?, Well, He's getting his own video game for crying out loud.

This has always been a tough one for me. I cant really make a decision, but HEat is one of the best movies of all time.
I just like De Niro's style better. He's more of a cool, take no shit type of mob guy. And he has the better films. btw, he was great in Meet the Parents.
De Niro. Pretty much entirely for Goodfellas and Raging Bull which are a thousand times better than Scarface imo. But Pacino did Carlitos Way, Serpico and Dog Day Afternoon, so...
i just saw a movie with Pacino and Colin Farell and it sucked. On the other had i recently saw Godfellas, so i will go with De niro

If it wasn't for that movie, it would be Deniro, for that fucking shit-eating smirk alone.
al pacino has nothing on deniro. the only people who'd say pacino is better haven't seen too many of either one's films.

but Heat was fuckin' INSANE...having them both together is good work.
-edit- but Pacino isn't far behind because Devil's Advocate is one of my fav movies of all time
