As requested... Custom Reaktor Hyperoscillator *You better read this, a new dawning."

I was requested to make a supersaw solution that rivals the RB2K one "name wrong?". Anyway, I investigated many different solutions and realized the most obvious, Wavetables!

This works that the oscillator is actually a constantly changing wavetable. This creates the detuned saw effect with just one oscillator! This is much more CPU efficient and allows for massive stacks without killing one's resources.

To download an example of this, downlod this ensemble.

You may test this, but I am running it on a new Intel iMac under rosetta, so mu CPU usage is totally off. If you could post your Reaktor's CPU I can judge if my findings are useful.

WARNING! You must disable and then re-enable the ocillators to put them out of phase, this is the only way to get a true sound "the three buttons on the side do this!"

Thank you, comments please!

I would use it if i had the software to run it

Just make a vst version and I'll be right on it!

OMG, who's bringing the SUPERBETAULTRAHYPERMEGALOLLERSAW?

Posted by DJ Renekk on Mar-14-2006 02:14:

should I not post things like this then?

just wondering

I'm in the same boat as DJ Glacial and Justin Mead. I f I had the software, I would definitely check this out. From what you posted, it sounds like a really tight concept.

can you make an mp3 demo in order to listen to it?

Posted by DJ Renekk on Mar-14-2006 20:11:

I would be glad to post an mp3. The problems I need to work out of this instrument are the following.

1 - Wavetable is not anti-aliased "high range is really bad"
2 - Reading and Writing to the wavetable is not smoothed.

After I get all the bugs worked out and Reaktor is updated for the new IntelMacs, I hope to release a version for Reaktor 5. Thanks for the support, and if you don't own Reaktor... GET IT! Worth every penny!

I just tested you essemble in Fl Studio reports 21% cpu usuage, but I fail to hear anything better then Rb2k1 supersaw essemble, sounds like every other supersaw vst I've used, I'm not knocking your efforts obviously its a step in the right direction, looking forward to seeing an updated version.

Here's a basic chord sample using HyperOscDemo with reverb added

Well the wonderful thing about this particular hypersaw is that it uses less processing power because it uses a dynamic wavetable. With this, it is possible to stack the sounds to make massive sounds.

I will be releasing a synth for reaktor as I get time.
