Posted by mcdpitt on Mar-12-2006 05:26:

I don't want to come across as rude, but you own a CDJ 800 yet you don't know how to burn an audio CD?? What software are you using??

Posted by mcdpitt on Mar-12-2006 05:31:

that's ok, just bought the 800's today, finally adding cd's...

Oh ok, just checking. I wouldn't put an investment in like that if I never knew how to burn an audio CD. But your coming from vinyl so, yeah you might not know, which is understandable. Welcome to the age of digital!

Dude you really should get a program, like Nero Burning Rom. Here's some trial versions. It'll make your life much easier, and you can do much more with your files. I never drag files onto the CD drive, I always use software...

Nero Downloads

thanks for your help, damn i had no idea i wouldn't be able to just click and drag, very new to the whole 21st century thing. i'm going to try and figure this all out, this is definately the easist way??

Posted by Spirit5 on Mar-12-2006 05:43:

You should be able to just drag and drop though, I've never done that though haha. Just software for me...but i'm trying it out myself right now...

Posted by Spirit5 on Mar-12-2006 05:45:

Ok drag it onto your cd-rw drive, and then once the files are in there, there should be a gray screen with two options, audio and data, just click audio, thats all. Now I know as well

I just use Nero 6, and just find the files and add them and go to burn compilation and thats it...

would it make any difference being on an apple?? i'm downloading the nero 7 now...

Posted by mcdpitt on Mar-12-2006 05:46:

i'm not getting the audio/data option..maybe the apple?

no problem, i don't think the nero is compatible with my comp.

in my cd-r window, all i have is the 'burn' option...this really sucks!

Yeah apple is probably different then windows...but nero 7 should make it easy for you. I think it costs like $79 for the full version though, but that includes audio editing and recording programs, which you probably already have on a Mac...

Look up some software you can use on a Mac, browse Nero's website, they might have a mac campatible program....they are a pretty big company so i'm sure they do...

I use a program called CD Burner XP pro 3. It's really simple and straight-to-the-point. I like it much better than neuro.

But yeah, you have to specify "audio cd" and not "data cd", or it'll just burn the CD with a wav file on it. If you use the "audio cd" option it'll convert the wav file into standard audio CD format, which your CDJ can read.

1. Hes looking for a program to work with mac...
2. Just because somthing is simple doesnt make it better. Nero is very usefull for anything multimedia. Record, edit, mix, burn and rip.
Its has been simplified for users now aswell with nero qucikstart and such. Im not attacking you, just letting you know...

crisis averted, thanks for all the advice...

i figured on apple the click and drag method wasn't working, simply took the tracks into itunes and made an audio cd through them...everything sounds great, first track on my cdj---

Just for a heads up, get ahold of Toast for mac, its similar to Nero, I have it and its really good and easy to use, will come in handy for when you burn other types of CDs/DVDs.
