Sean Miller - Miami Mix (SM04)

Sean Miller - "Miami Mix" (WMC '06 Promo)

This starts out very DH GU Miami/ Fanciulli Renassaince-ish.... and just gets better as the mix progresses. A lot different than previous mixes from Sean, but still has that real sleazy feel to it.

This is a perfect mix for all you Miami Fucks, who will be chillin on the beach, sippin on tasty slushy alcoholic beverages.

Enjoy

1. Lennart - The Rain
2. D-Pulse - July Sunset
3. ID
4. ID
5. Nu Electric - No Matter What (TV Rock Dub Mix)
6. Daft Punk - Technologic (Chris Niteshake Remix)
7. Scandy - So Do Eye (Martin Eyerer Remix)
8. Underworld - Jal to Tokyo (Paul Woolford Dub)
9. Mylo - Muscle Car (DJ T Remix)
10. Patric La Funk - You Never Know (Jerry Ropero Remix)
11. ID
12. Todd Terry - Keep On Dancin' (Steve Mac Remix)
13. Burrini & Pompili - Escape
14. ID

no feedback on this gem ?

Posted by Protege on Mar-14-2006 20:37:

Ok this is some good shit. Ive heard some of the tracks but I cant for the life of me figure out what they are, except of course the Daft Punk - Technologic remix/mash-up (which is pure sex btw) and Muscle Cars.

tracklist eddie?

This mix reeks of class . Top notch track selection. I kind of like not knowing the track names of most as it adds an air of mystery. Damn this guy has got some style and skills , real cool laid back groovy stuff. Can you hook me up with any more of his mixes ??

im glad you are enjoying it as much as i did!

sean very rarely releases mixes, but when he does, tracklists are never included.

i think he likes people to play the guessing game

Lame.

That essentially ensures I'll never download a single one of his sets.

how is that lame?

when he's dealing with some tracks that are his own production or others that have yet to be released, why post an incomplete listing?

Thats good.

It should only go to those who have a chance of deciphering the names anyhow. Don't feel left out though.

Why should I blindly download a mix from a DJ whose only description is "DH GU Miami/ Fanciulli Renassaince-ish" and doesn't seem to do anything to make me want to listen?

Sorry m8, but as far as I'm concerned, the more information, the better. Amateur or low-level DJ's who refuse to post TL's for demos, in my experience, have been the guys who are so concerned with not letting anyone else know what they're playing that they don't realize in fact plenty of other guys are dropping the same "underground" or "unknown" tracks they are...

And if there are some of his own productions or current tracks he wished to keep as an "ID," that's fine, but what's the harm in giving people reference points?

Ok dude, heres some info on our friend Sean.

Productions/Remixes
Chus & Ceballos vs. Tedd Patterson - In Stereo (Sean Miller Remix [Stereo Productions]
Julio Torres - Biruta (Sean Miller Boa Remix) [Harlem Records]
Sean Miller - Swells - [Stereo Productions]
Bailey & Miller - Whats Going On - [Harlem Records]
Fishhead - Inescapable (Sean Miller mixes) - [Saw Recordings]
D-Drive - Orgasm (Sean Miller tribute to Boa remix) - [Harlem Records]

He has opened for Deep Dish, Sasha, Steve Lawler, Chus & Ceballos, Dj Vibe, Victor Calderone, Scumfrog, Satoshi Tomiie, David Morales, Hector Romero, Danny Tenaglia, Demi, Creamer & K, Sander Kleinenberg, Tom Stephan, Saeed Younan, Cevin Fisher, Wally Lopez, Oscar G, Peter Bailey, Tiesto, Behrouz...... need more? I'm sure this list will be bigger in a few months.

He was also selected by Mr. Steve Lawler to be his opening dj for his Lights Out III tour, where Sean won over thousands of fans, and was labeled by Steve "The best opener out there", and "The best undiscovered talent".

Do you need anymore convincing before downloading this promo?

Nope, that'll do.

Fair enough, ignorance pwnd me on that one. However I will still say that more is better when it comes to info on DJ's that, while not amateur or even "low level" per se, are still relative unknowns on the global scale. If the point is to promote the talent, I guess IMO, you've got to make me want to listen as opposed to assuming on good faith that I've have half a clue what they play.

Rob, i don't even know if you will even listen to my opinion but i think you should give this promo a listen because it is a direction your own music is taking. this set is much deeper than what you have posted before but i think if you are looking for something fresher, you should check this out.

sweet!

when is your next mix going to be available? are you doing something miami themed?

Posted by Clovis on Mar-16-2006 21:08:

RJT....POWNED

Sean Miller owns. And this mix owns. I pretty much know 75% of the tracks so I can make a tracklist if you want, but you should d/l it anyway cause it owns.

Its a shame you cant take a bunch of peoples word for it just cause theres no tracklist. Like coded said, its more fun with no tracklist, because when your're seeing him live, he doesnt write down what songs hes gonna play first and then give it to you.

But floorwhore def had it right when he said this is chill on the beach with a mojito and sun music...

if a set says uplifitng trance/hi-nrg/jungle i probably won't listen. having the tracklist makes no difference.

I agree with a lot of what you said, but TL's give the listener, IMO, a more direct reference point than the sometimes vague descriptions of sound put forth in some instances. For me, when I see a TL where maybe I know 1/15 tracks, but that tune is one I dig, it's far more likely I'll DL the set regardless of the overall style, just to hear how the DJ chooses to drop it.

I guess what it comes down to is somewhat personal in so far as how each individual finds new music. I generally have so much new stuff to listen to that in a lot of instances with the promos posted here on TA I really need something to jump out at me to make me really want to hear it. Perhaps I miss a lot of gold this way, but that's just how it works for me at the moment.

Edit: Also, I'll admit, the way Floorwhore decided to spam this set across all the local forums left a bad taste in my mouth from the beginning.
