I consider this a huge insult to my state, giving the California Businesswoman of the year award to a renown porn star. It's like saying the Porn Industry is the only Industry California excels at. If this move was politically motivated, I don't see how Bush will win many conservatives over to his side with this.

Out of curiosity who would you have nominated for business woman of the year? Her line of work aside, Ms. Carey has been very successful at quickly building a production company in a state where thousands of people dream of doing the same thing.

Well I don't really keep up with all the prestigious business owners and C.E.O.'s in California so I can't really answer that. But I just would think that with thousands of other businesses here someone else could be better deserving of the title.

On another note, I was listening to Alan Colmes (sp) on the radio today and they had Mary Carey on as a guest. Apparently she was supposed to receive the award at a luncheon with Carl Rowe, but was then disinvited from it last Monday. She was still able to attend the dinner with George W. Bush just that she was never given the award. It also appears that anyone can win the "Business Person of the Year" Award as long as they donate 2500 dollars to the Republican Party. Things make much more sense now. Although now instead of being glad that she didn't get the award, I am now annoyed with the Republicans for just taking her money and then stiffing her in the end.
