Lightbulb Super Street Fighter 2 (Turbo?) for SNES! ?

OKAY guys, I KNOW I'm NOT going crazy.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong:

For the SNES, there were four (4) Street Fighter 2 series games:

1) Street Fighter 2
2) Street Fighter 2 Turbo
3) Super Street Fighter 2
4) Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo

I've been trying to re-acquire a copy of "Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo" off eBay and the like for AGES!

But it seems SSF2T just isn't 'available' to get.

Then I was doing some googling on it... and I cant even find a result for "Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo" for hte SNES.

WELL WTF! Am I remembering ALL WRONG?

SSF2 introduced the 4 new characters.

Then like a year or so later, SSF2T came out, introducing the new SPECIAL ULTRA character AKUMA!

So I know a version of Street Fighter exists after SSF2... but dammit, why isn't it popularly showing up on the net.

I need input/revelations!

I NEED SUPER STREET FIGHTER 2 TURBO for the SNES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo was never released for the SNES.

It went:

Street Fighter 2
Street Fighter 2 Turbo
Super Street Fighter 2

According to the Moby games database, it was only released on the 3D0, the Amiga, and the Dreamcast.

See, but Akuma WASNT IN Super Street Fighter 2...

and I just *KNOW* there was a game after SSF2.. w/ even more new moves, better combos, charge attacks for super combos, that was like almost exactlyl the same as SSF2... and the TURBO function was brought back.

I swears I'm not going nuts. (And it wasn't Street Fighter Alpha... this game def. had the SAME characters as SSF2 + Akuma....)

Like Ken got a new move where he has some special downward punch I think it was. Ryu got a kinda fancy kick, when you pressed FORWARD and MED. KICK...

^^ i think those where the character specific moves for those two.

Ryu got an in air fieball... or was that Akuma? For sure Akuma, maybe both.

Uhm... Guile got a new move, i forget what it was though... by "new moves" I just mean cool LITTLE new moves, like holding FORWARD + MED PUNCH and maybe you do a different punch than if you'd just hit MED PUNCH by itself... (I dont mean like a new move, as in a FIREBALL or SONIC BOOM type of move)

Plus, did you have those super fancy combos in SSFII ?

Bc if you didnt, i KNOW I played for hte SNES a SF game where you did!!!!

God this is driving me INSANE!!!

JUST REMEMBERED:

You had a special CHARGE bar... which when fully charged let you do the a SUPER SUPER combo move... like for Ryu, you do a SUPER FIREBALL thing...

To initiate it, you'd do the thumbpad motion of a fireball TWICE then hit like med or strong punch.. and you'd get a special animation sequence w/ this new massive attack that just drained life form your opponent if they didnt block it.

AND I know I played it on the SNES! (Not the aracade or any other game consol! UGH!)

Dude that's is my #1 fav fighting game of all time, Super Street Fighter II TURBO. And Magnus is 100% right. That game was never released for the Super Nintendo. At the time, the ONLY system it was available for was Panasonic 3D0. Even THAT game wasn't perfect in translation to the arcade gem. The Super NES didn't have enough power to run Super Street Fighter II Turbo. Trust me, I know. I had been waiting for this game too.

Thankfully you can get it on PS1 on Street Fighter Collection.

I used to PWN with Akuma. I was the master of his Ashuura Senkuu (Ashuura warp/teleport).

I have it on Dreamcast. It has the power up bar at the bottom just like your describing and each character was given a few new moves. Like Ken's 2 part scissor kick which I absolutely love and his spinning low kick which happens when you simply hit Strong Kick. In SSF2, hitting Strong Kick would have made Ken do a basic roundhouse.

SSF2T always stands out to me because on the Dreamcast, and I'm not sure how it is on PS or 3DO, but the computer is like beyond difficult to beat. Its ridiculous really, with the computer timing and countering everything against whatever move you make perfectly. Adjusting the computer's skill level really has no effect. I'm lucky to be able to get past the first 3 guys. All previous SFs, I can destroy my way through nearly unscathed. Maybe people complained the SFs were too easy so Capcom was like, we'll show you what hard is when they made SSF2T.

Jem_hadar if you are dying to play this game in all its glory, the true arcade version, MAME is your answer. If you'd like, PM me and I'll send you the latest MAME install with the SSF2T ROM and you'll be up and playing in no time. If you have a controller hooked up to your PC you'll be really set although the keyboard will work but it will be difficult to play properly. The game runs perfectly even on a mediocre system.

I can Dragon Punch the shit out of anyone!

I was the ULTIMATE master at the whole DP + Fireball combo deal.

Piece of piss! (Though really annoying to those who couldn't attack it on ANY level... LOL... n00bs!)

I use MAME and would be interested in that ROM.

Do you have a link to info on this Dreamcast version? I'm curious to see it.

Hey DarkAngel. PM for the ROM.

Here are 2 links for info on the DC version:

Link 1

Link 2

BTW if you own a Dreamcast and the manufacturing date on the back is before October 2001, you can simply burn the image for this game and play it in your DC. No tricks required.

Actually, here is the link to the ROM and the latest version of Mame32 which I've bundled together. I figure others might need it as well or what to check it out.

http://s10.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=...NH0H4WFQHG2QC0P

So basically unzip that file, launch Mame32 .104 to install. Then take the 2 included .zip files, leave them zipped, and place them into the Roms subfolder which is created when you install Mame. Then launch Mame, and click on the Available category on your left. You'll now only see the games you have available, which in this case, will be SSF2, and SSF2T. SSF2 is required to be in the Roms folder because it is a parent of SSF2T. Once the game is launched, hit Tab to bring up the config screen so you can set the controls, etc.

The image is in the ZIP file or elsewhere? My Dreamcast was made in July '99.

Hey DarkAngel,

The link I posted contained Mame32 for the PC and the ROMs to run SSF2T.

Do you want the image for the DC? I believe its something around 300MB but since your DC is good to go, I'll get my disc and see if I can create a successful image for you and let you know.

Yes, please. The roms and mame work perfectly but the image would be a big help.
