Honestly, I don't know how you guys can say that ipods suck. Find me a smaller device with a better interface, that has the same capabilities.

On top of that it's made by Apple, which means it's superior.

60gb of Music, Pictures, Video at your fingertips, with the easiest to use interface on the market. Excellent sound quality and is smaller than your cell phone. I say, Apple for the win, along with 25 other Million people.. So all you rookies can stick to your wanna be ipod's that will NEVER EVER be able to take any market share from Apple, since they have over 90% of the market of Portable Digital Media Player market, globally!

i have a 2.5GB rio. i wanted this one over the Ipod any version. With my rio i don't need Itunes or anything like that. I can charge my rio by computer or by outlet, plus it's the perfect size, just bigger then a nano. I have tons of music, how convient is with trying to search with an ipod? The best thing that i love about my rio over the ipod is the scroll wheel. that is godsend. I know you set playlist, but still. While you can play video on there, the screen is tiny. I would rather have a PSP to watch video over an ipod. On a side note i wouldn't mind getting a next generation video IPOD that's a 2" x 4" touch screen. now that's not bad.

anything that requires me to intall intunes, ill pass.

McDonalds probably has the largest market share of any fast-food chain and their product still sucks ass. Thats a shit argument.

I dont own anything of the sort since I just listen to CD-Rs or MP3 CDs, but if I did get one, I'd have much more use for one of the larger devices that offer a compact flash card slot which would allow me to empty my camera's memory card while on long shoots. What the hell is the point of video playing capability on a screen that small. Same for pictures. Its absolutely useless.

iPods REALLY DO suck compared to most of the competition. I like my Toshiba Gigabeat...60 GIGs for $299, and a better screen/photo support than the iPod video. Winner for me

Gigabeat is like twice as thick..

The whole thing with the iPod is size.. in this case smaller is better., If you were getting it mainly for video, than you are smoking crack. That is just a cool feature, to show off some pics and maybe watcha video on a plane or something. the iPod is about looks, size and ease of use.

Plus, it's cool! Most important factor.

Can you plug in your Toshiba to your car system and control it with your HU? There are so damn many accessories for the iPod its crazy. I'm not an Apple fan and have owned a shitload of mp3 players but I have to say they have nothing on the iPod. Besides, I got my GFs 60 gig iPod video for $349.

iTunes sucks major stanky ass though. I only use it for syncing the iPods.

I love my iPod! Got it for my birthday, so far haven't had any problems. The battery is starting to go to shit but I already knew that was gonna happen. In any case, the iTunes thing isn't a big deal at all! Downloading Digweed's weekly pod cast ftw!!

Oh, don't know if anyone knew this or not but, when you rip a cd directly into iTunes it rips it into a format that just as high quality as an mp3 but not nearly as big. I fit the entire 3 disc set of Balance 007 in less than a gig I think.

...which isn't saying much because both are pocket-sized anyway

Better sound quality, better screen/photo support are the main reasons I got the Gigabeat over the iPod.

Better sound quality says who? iPod is a Stereophile Recommended Componet which is more than I can say for any other mp3 player. However, if its screen/photos are in fact better, I can see why the Gigabeat was right for you . I think I've looked at photos twice in the year I've had mine.

Says thousands of people who have real word experience with MP3 players on DAP websites and "audiophile" websites, and not a magazine who reviewed the iPod in 2003.

No, but it means i'm not locked into iPod crap for the rest of my life in my car. If a better MP3 player comes out that is not iPod (such as the Neuros III), I can use it. I'd rather use the much larger MP3 player screen than a small head unit screen. Especially if myself or a friend wants to browse to a certain song.

I don't have that problem with "hiding" it. If I have a MP3 player, i'm not going to leave it in the car all day, i'm going to bring it with me. I didn't know disconnecting a MP3 player and putting it in your pocket was a major hassle

i bought an ipodz.. only cause i was drunk and i dont remember.. i literally woke up with 100 dollars less... and a ipod nano... with a bunch of hip hop in it. lol
