No one here is afraid of hardware - we're just afraid of the price tags.

Kontakt isn't your average producer. With tekno and breakz as elusive as the name, the beats coming out of this studio do all they should. The mind inside the studio brings hard psychedelics to life with rash tweaking sounds and warm fuzzy basslines that just tell you to couch out. Taking some of the most tweaked out psychedelic sounds of the past and bringing them to the future with this all new style of hard, in your face, all out psychedelia dance music. Kontakt isnt a name or a person, its a symbol. A meaning. A point. Kontakt music is living and breathing inside of your minds, it slips in and lives off of your mind. Taking dark psychedelic breakz to a whole other level, and bringing oldskool style tekno new found life. It has found its place again, right inside your mind. Give a listen and if you ever will, you'll know just what Kontakt is. Do NOT try this NOT at home! Make Kontakt - If you dare. Coming soon to a party near you I am currently not signed, and am looking for a progressive label that understands the direction music is moving in to take full advantage of my productions. If all else fails, I will bring my label public and do the best for other artists like myself.

^ For all this talk, you certainly have no walk. No offense!

Meaning, your music sounds like it was made in FL 3.56 with the stock sounds.

Give him a break... at least it isn't Lord of Bass.

Hey, wait a minute!!! Isn't Kontakt a sampling software produced by Native Instruments?

---
About the music... some interestinc concepts and unique sounds, but I can't say the concepts flowed smoothly of properly. YOur choice of sounds sometimes seems off or odd, and the drum timbre's themselves lacking finesse. For instance, the kick sounds much like a no-frills 909 setting.

I won't claim my work would sound much better... and I'm inexperienced with your genre of EDM. Therefore I have little room to judge.

I'm also inexperienced with hardware. I use only one hardware synthesizer for my current sub-amatuer crap. I don't diss either software of hardware - I actually would prefer to use BOTH, but am too poor.

Dude, WTF?

I think it's fekkin rad. Production quality is better than most, that's for sure.

"Answer Me" is awesome. If I was you, I'd cut a hard low pass on that beginning tonal percussion sound at 311 Hz with really high resonance, and put it through some overdrive.

You should list your equipment on your myspace page. And yah, cut down on the self praise, as it makes insecure people shite themselves.

But ya, I dig it; I'm downloading them all cuz I'm low on hard ravish shiz. And tell me what equipment you have.

FARK, how much did all that gear cost.
I'm fully software at the moment, but looking to go hardware, I'm thinking about buying a Korg karma, do u think that would be a good starting point.
i havent checked your tracks yet, but will tonight when I get home.

No 303? 909?

Well, I don't give two shites about the 909, but I'm going to get a 303. For friggin sure. I don't even plan on using it. It's just so goddamned cool.

Unless we're talking guitar, drums or a badass synth, I'm purely software. It's just too easy to use. I don't plan on tweaking knobs more than a couple times live... too much of a pain.

Plus, not many free 303s around lately .

If you are worried about $$, you shouldn't be concidering going the hardware route.

THe pros and cons of hardware vs. software have been raised numerous times in several forum boards, so I'll probably be redundant here. Are you hoping for a better sound quality with hardware?

I own a Roland JP-8080 that I record through my EMU soundcard with ASIO compatible sequencer. It's my most expensive investment in audio realm, but also one of my most prized. I like tweaking knobs, but most importantly, was the hard-to-beat sonic character. I have yet to find a software that can emulate the charcter of it's oscillators; but having a bunch of knobs to tweak is a plus to that investment...

Like I said, I don't even plan on using it. It just LOOKS so damned cool that I want one.

When I get some more bucks again, I'm going to get the Phoscyon vsti. It's bloody awesome. I tweak bass way too much to go hardware on it. I save presets like mad, so it would be impossible for me to use hardware, even with the ability to save presets on it.

Any other synth is a different story, chances are I'd either record patterns or sample. I know that sounds a bit backwards, but it's the way I've always done it.

What's your favorite lead synth? Pad synth? Those are what I'm looking for right now.

I'm not worried about the cash, I was commenting on Skills massive gear collection, there's a difference between buying one synth and 50!!!!!

I want to get into hardware for a more hands on feel, I'd rather sit in front of a keyboard than a computer.
i have a midi keyboard and the software option is very good, nothing wrong with it, i just want a keyboard, always have always will, i just figured software was a cheaper way to make sure I want to invest the money.
I also reckon if I play live (dream) a keyboard would look cooler than a laptop.
And I figured the Korg Karma looks like it does everthing in one unit, which is what im after.

Quite honestly, I can't picture myself playing keyboard or computer live. Singing perhaps. Mixing on hardware, sure. But I always think the keyboard players in a band look like dorks.... they should be hitting light-up pipes with bones or something rad like that.

I could see a DJ on a computer, and props to ANYONE who does anything live, I just can't see myself in front of my computer at a club.

I'd just be pressing the play button anyway.

Live is for showmanship, or building crows up. If you aren't doing either, what's the point?

All good. Should have more people talking about hardware on the forum. Hopefully you become a bit of a catalyst.

hey boy...six-oh-six is a drum machine...
unless you're speaking of SP-606 but that is a sampling machine...so WTF?

im calling that i need to get my rubber waders out to get through all the bullshit that has built up.... fuck ohh well all in good nature then.. almost makes me wonder if i should post some fucked up shit i did and say its hardware becuase itd be cool to claim hardware produced the fucked up sounds but if it was software itd get laughed at simply because software usually makes shotty sounds to begin with where as you have to make hardware make shotty sounds.
