[psytrance] Melodic and fast, feeback plz.

"Twilight"

So this is my most recent piece that I have done. I hope everything is sitting right in it's place.

Nice sine stab in the intro. Trippy effects and samples are cool, too.

For some reason, the sheer simplicity of sine waves make them so effective. You've done an excellent job of harnessing that.

2:45 or so: good sample, and even better synthline.

3:10 is really fun.

3:42. Arpeggiation++

That acid transition at 4:07 was wonderful.

In twisted, the suprise coming out of the breakdown was too sudden, but here, it's just right.

Section after 5:50 with all the drops is very effective.

The end was a bit sudden. Is it unfinished? Or is that the limit for soundclick or something?

Sound click loves cutting stuff off.

The song is 8:23 long. I got find a new way of posting tracks, this cutting of thing is just not cool.

i actually liked it.. one note tho.. some sounds seem to hang for too long (maybe it is just me). The action still goes on on the background, so i would have droppped the levels of arp (or others) at some point for a second showing some fx action. also, where the bass variating for 1 tone i think it could be appropriate to move that variation a bit to the right or left. or something like that, cuz that -1 semitone i think should appear at a different time.. good job!

Hi frost

I like your sound I agree with thoughtlessjex about intro. It's very nice.Bass and kick are very nice combine together. You can feel the power very clear. The loops and seqs you are using are very psychedelic. You have also some nice and lot of changes that make the track very interesting and easy to listen.Really nothing to complain about The use of fxs are very clever and your track at some points drives me crazy (this is good )

Keep it up mate

Hey Frosty,
too bad you missed the mix. But I'm sure there will be a second one

Now commenting as I listen...
The beginning seems pretty minimal. The "rubber scratching" FX sound is very nice and professional sounding though.
pretty hard kick. I like the way how you fade it in. When it kicks in, youre really hit by massive force. Good, good. I also like its sound. Bass is not too spectacular but goes along with the kick quite well.
1:56 - nice way to keep the beat banging. All those FX are very nice, I think that track could rock any dancefloor. For homelistening not too much my taste since its still kinda simple.
2:37 - the first melody in the track actually, I like those noises in the background. The track seems to build and build.
4:20 - excellent breakdown. Wicked noises, liking it a lot.
You are building up a new melody now which seems a little like hard-trance. Interesting, the track keeps stomping like mad, this has a lot of energy. I like those deep percussive sounds that contribute a lot to the groove.
The ending is pretty much a build-down. Maybe I'd wish to hear something new in the track at that point. But since you said soundbitch cut it off I cant tell what happens next

The mixing was excellent. Very clean and tidy sound, every element is crisp and clear, even at 128.
Overall, I am not 100% sure about this. It has a lot of energy, and the sound seems pretty up to professional standards to me. It's an excellent party track I think, but its lacking the Frostravenish playfulness a little. You can still be very content with the result!
Keep it up!

Nice intro, lots of bouncey fx. Rally like feel and groove of this track. It has some nice melodic elements but some more goa ones too, overall very successful in that department.

Good change around the 2 min mark!

The lead at 2.45 doesnt quite do it for me. The square wave sound is kinda cool but sort of leaves it feeling a bit hollow?? Maybe it could do with being layered with another synth. Or maybe try the same synth with slightly different automation and pan them hard left and right... might give it some more movement.

The melody around 5 minutes strikes me as a bit odd. It sounds cheap and a bit hard trance-ish like cyber says. Might just be that square wave turning me off again, I dunno.

I thought the mixing wise, its pretty good. Clear and well defined top and bottom end. The kick was a bit overpowering though and I think the bass could do with a bit more compression. Feels a tad thin at the moment... could be my monitors though, they dont go that low.

Overall, a pretty solid track. The structure and groove is very good and the mixdown is pretty spot on but I think the synth programming could be a bit more interesting. Something to improve on next time

This is a very well structured tune. All the sounds are crisp and flow well together. I love how the bass is introduced.

3:20 great work with the filtering. nice transition into the atmospheric pads bit. The pads could be turned up a bit & even thickened imo.

4:44 nice.

4:50 great change. The frequency is harsh or too flat or something...

I loved all the tweeks you added throughout the tune. The constant changes kept me amused all the way through. Excellent bass line BTW

Thanks for sharing Mr Frost

The bassline rocked! THe intro and other elements are classic FrostRaven madhouse!

Farts were fast paced and had some unique faces and tweaks.

The bassline around 2:06 seems sharper and more classic psy. The flyby sounds presented a new atmosphere and did, in fact, "break my concentration" -LOL.

Nice snare, bud... phat and crisp. Pads and bell-sines worked wonders in the track's evilness.

at 3:50 -- the bass seems almost chorus-ed. That's just awesome in a strangely unconventional way.

The reverberated sine-beeps had an impressive melody to them.

4:50 has a very strong and provoking melody. One of your best IMO. I feel as though I'm running away from cybernetic goblins from the newly opened wormhole. Both trippy and hectic at the same time.

Very good work! You never cease to electrically prod my imagination in the psy-trance dimension.

Thatnks for all the comments, I was actully trying to go for a hard trance type of thing. I have always wanting to mix hardtrance/hardstyle with psy trance. Not an easy task since those two styles have completly differnt sonic space managment.

But, it looks as if when it get's it's final mix done, I will have little things to fix up.

Thanks guys....

whatever you do for the final mix, don't change much. This track rocks hardcore. I can't even begin to describe the energy here and reminds me of AstriX productions a lot. The bassline is right on the money and the FX are phenomenal. Melody wise could have been added a bit more, but like cyber said, this is more for the dancefloor and i think it would rock the dancefloor.

Great job on this one, i'd love a finnished promo to play out!
