DJ BOOTH-up high or down low??
Just curius when you go to a club or event, do you prefer the dj booth up high like avalon or ruby skye, or down low to where the dj booth is at eye level?

down low like at ice....so u can bother the dj.
low of course, what fun is it if you can't see the magic happen.

I say eliminate the DJ booth and put the DJ in the middle of the dancefloor!!! So he can feel like he's part of the crowd!
The only reason I DO like the booth high up, is precisely because you can't see whats going on. Nothin crazier than John Digweed owning your brain with his ridiculously perfect mixes and all you can see is his serious ass face up there at the Mayan.
Lawler @ Avalon last June, they had a small divide in front of the decks so you couldnt see his hands.
Personally, I think its awesome, especially with technically perfect DJs like them, because you cant see when the mix occurs, you cant see what channels are in, you cant see what is playing what, all you can do is listen, and get owned by the sound.
So I like both.
i think a 2-3 foot platform is perfect. if ruby skye's stage setup was at spundae la's height with the front cordoned off, that club would be PERFECT.
middle of the dance floor rotating DJ booth on hydraulics lifting it up and down ftw?

A spinning dj booth at the middle of the club/arena at dancefloor level but can be risen every now and then combined with some tilting.

0.5 mph spin would only be two revolutions during a 4 hor set. hardly noticable. and then 360 stadium style dancefloor with a hemisphere of lights over the top..
.. ummm yea it's definatley good weed
now, just add some shooting fire & pyrotechnics from the sides, and you're set!

Jumping water fountains around the booth to protect from washers (coherant people know to stand under the arches, washers fall victim)

Personally, I think the DJ booth at 1015 is perfect. It's down low and connected to the crowd. But it has a plexiglas divider that can be lowered or raised if people are becoming pests.
I don't like the idea of the center room DJ booth. I personally wouldn't want to spin with my back to anybody. I like being able to see everyone and see who's not having a good time, and how everyone is reacting.
