Sad PvD's family loss...

I don't mean to dampen anyone's spirits, especially those going to see PVD at Ultra next week but I found out that his grandfather died and I only find it fair that we pass our thoughts and prayers to him and his family.

This is what was said from the official site:

We are very sorry to announce that Paul van Dyk has to cancel the show tonight in Dublin - please find his personal statement below:
Dear all, due to a bereavement in my family i am unable to travel to Dublin today.I hope that everyone can understand that I want and need to be with my family in this moment. My team will try to arrange a new gig in Dublin as soon as possible, a city I felt always welcome and where I always love to play.Thank you for your understanding at this time and i wish you a wonderful night! Paul van Dyk

Just think of the story behind The Other Side. Remember, when you lose someone that you love, that person isn't gone. They will always be in your heart and you know that they've gone to a place where they do the things they enjoy most 24/7. You will always love that person and they will always love you in spirit.

See You On The Other Side

I'm only saying this in general, not to make people stick their fingers down their throats.

Don't you think that this is between Paul and his family and is the sort of thing he'd rather not have discussed by random people on random message boards?

Sorry, I was just trying to make a point. You'll all have different outlooks on this situation and I can respect that. I guess fans can come in different ways

I'd say that it's a waste of time. I don't image that he checks that.

uhhh.... myspace fan site? yeah, they are.

and what was the purpose of this thread again? to get a bunch of people paul doesn't know to constantly remind him that his grandfather is gone? "hey great show tonight paul, sorry about your grandfather btw!". i think i'd be more annoyed than anything if that were me.

Yes he is. He is gone.
The only thing that exists is the memory of him in his mind.

I know I am going to get flammed for this but FFS Pvd grandfather was probably like 1000 years old.
Thats what happens to old people..they die!
My dog died a couple of months ago I feft sad but it's not the end of the world.
Life goes on

Posted by digitul punk on Mar-19-2006 08:39:

Nawww.. Really?? Sorry about ur dog man now that he's dead and in a perfect place and all..

You do realize that losing someone important like a grandfather is way more painful than losing skippy...

Your right life doesn't end but it sure does change.

PS. Didn't mean to sound like a dick.

well that all comes down to one's own opinion
I know people who'd rather tie their grandfather to a tree and take skippy with them on a holiday trip, instead of the other way round.. ;o

anyhow, sad period for mr van dyk, but I'm sure many a grandfather has passed away over the past period, perhaps even in our fellow forum members' families, and we're not posting threads about them either are we?

it's fair to post the reason why this one gig got cancelled, but that's it.
