04-02-2006 Living in Los Angeles I moved to Los Angeles temporarily to get some rest and work on new music in January. In the first 2 weeks it was really strange for me to be in one city for so long but now I am really soaked in this lifestyle. Every day during the week I go to the studio and occasionally I go out in the weekends. I sleep 8 hours a night, eat 4 times a day and go to the gym 3 times a week. My body doesn't know what's happening! No crazy late nights or spending hours and hours in planes. So I feel like a champ at the moment! I am working in several studios in Hollywood and with several producers and singers/songwriters. Hollywood is full of them! So much talent in one town... One of them, Brian Transeau (BT) is one of the best producers in the world. I've been a fan of his music since he produced Mercury & Solace, so for me it's a great honour to work with him and also very inspirational. He is a crazy multitasker, working on tracks with me, meanwhile doing 2 movie soundtracks, circuitbend kids' toys to get the most crazy sounds out of them, directing visuals for his experimental album and taking care of his sweet daughter of 2! It's amazing to work with somebody who is just as crazy about house music as I am. We have real love for it and that shows off on the tracks we make. We have a lot of fun, and that is essential for creating music. To be happy about what you're doing and really mean it. Brian and I are both very extremely enthusiastic people, and so we are able to show that to our crowds, just because we love it so much! We were talking the other day about some other famous dj's who have the privilege to travel around the world, but when behind the decks look like some family member just passed away . While spinning your music for a great crowd, how can you look so miserable? The only way you can stand behind the decks and look like that is when you're not happy with yourself or with the music you play. I had just a few gigs where I was not that happy last year, and of course people saw that on me. But the reasons for that are always technical, and never emotional. If my monitor sucks (which happens quite a lot), or my equipment doesn't work properly then I get pissed off. But never because I don't like the crowd or what I am doing. I found out I still have the same passion for dj-ing as when I started. Of course it feels a little bit different the first time you play for 25.000 people or the 10th time. But that's more about the expectations people have, then about me not loving it. I still love dj-ing more then anything in the world! Meanwhile I am also compiling my new 'In Search Of Sunrise 5' mixalbum which will be released late April. I get send sooo many great tracks from producers from all over the world, it's crazy. I am gonna mix it here in L.A. in the next 2 weeks, so I am very excited for that as well... So, love to you all from me in Los Angeles, and if you bump into me on the Hollywood Boulevard, don't be a stranger :-)! Tisto |

good one.
Rift? What is this Biggie vs Tupac to see who will pop a cap on who's ass first??
For all you know Tiesto could have been talking about John Digweed (my favorite DJ) when he talked about DJs just standing there. This despite the fact that Tiesto has formed a friendship with Digweed back in 2001 when Moby went on tour with them.
I've read in Mixmag one of PVD's columns in which Paul hinted at having a bone to pick with Judge Jules playing too many gigs in one night (Oakenfold made similar remarks about Jules or some other DJ back in 99). And yet, I don't see any feud erupting there based on the fact that PVD and Judge Jules spun back to back at two events in the UK last week.
Tiesto had zero crowd interaction in Detroit at the State Theatre a few months back. Would'nt even look up to acknowledge the people! PVD a couple a weeks ago in the same venue was ALL smiles and really feeding off the crowds energy! I hate Tiesto-
Its like Jlo and Britney catfight.
Uhh, question...
Who cares?
hot damn too bad i didnt run into tiesto when i was in hollywood a few weeks back. oh well, i was too drunk to propbably notice him anyways...

Let the PVD VS. Dj Tiesto war begin. Muahahahaha. J/K. I wonder who would win in a physical fight though? He he. My money is on tiesto, he looks a lot taller then PVD.

| Originally posted by Ian actually no it's not. You're just trying to sensationalise something and then make it out to be a big thing. We live in a world where people don't like each other, who really cares? Nobody gives a shit if Mr Smith doesn't like the milkman cos he caught the milkman stuffing his wife, or if 2 people in the street don't like each other. Few people give a shit if Saddam Hussein isn't on George Bush's christmas card list. David Beckham doesn't give a flying fuck if Ronaldo doesn't invite him to the local tapas bar because Beckhams wife is a moaning whore. Arsene Wenger doesn't lose sleep over the fact that Sir Alex Ferguson won't take him to Pizza Hut. Point is, nobody really gives a flying fuck what people think, whether they hold hands or not or if they send each other dirty text messages "I love your latest song Tijs" "I'll let you in on a secret Paul, I didn't actually make it, i took it from 4 other tunes & got Cor Fijneman to do it for KFC" "oh well Tijs, i'll tell you something too, That purple kid off tranceaddict.com is moaning again about us xxx" "oh let him, see you behind the bikeshed at the usual time. Love Ya xx" etc |
They're both somewhat arrogant. Magnets of the same pole repel each other. The only difference is that Tijs puts on a mask for showbusiness, and Paul does not.

If I remember correctly: A year ago or so, Thijs wore a Vandit t-shirt while performing at a big event, to remove all rumours about them not liking each other.
So I think somebody made this stuff up.
On the other hand, I remember an interview with PVD, in which he had lots of criticism on Thijs performing at Disney Land.
[rumour feeding mode]I think if there is hate, it comes from Paul[/]
