actually i don't own many electronic albums. i buy artist albums...so if they happen to be electronic then i'll get them, but i don't like buying compilations...i'd rather just purchase all the tunes off of them that i like.

that's fucked up

Posted by stren on Mar-18-2006 20:21:

i am sorry for you. Most of my albums are non EDM

Posted by DJ Cinos on Mar-18-2006 20:54:

No no no. You got it wrong.

Owning only EDM makes me leet.

Because every other kind of music sucks, more or less.

You are the reason people hate EDM lovers. Ability to see outside 'this realm'

I like almost every kind of music and own much of it. I dont like bluegrass tho.. so that is one genre I have never purchased.

No way! EDM is great and all, but there's a shitload of excellent music out there.

very true. outside of country music and all that other deep redneck shit (except a couple particular artists) i love almost everything. right now i'm listening to a digweed set but its the first electronic thing i've listened to in probably 5 days. been stuck on all those classic 90s alternative rock songs that people my age probably remember from middle school growing up. that and coldplay because im goin to their concert tomorrow night

Posted by Xenocreator_PG_ on Mar-18-2006 23:37:

I own more heavy metal albums than EDM.

One minute Ill be listening to Sepultura & then the next it will be Shpongle. Another minute I might put on some Meshuggah and then 'kapoo' I put on some Mr Pecular. I might even be listening to Fatali and change my mind & whack on the ole Master of Puppets or do a barnyard dance with the Hayseed Dixie Hillbilly ACDA tribute album.

Posted by noikeee on Mar-19-2006 00:22:

i have some, but they're all from about 6 or 7 years ago, or older, and mostly really cheesy and mainstream. haven't really listened to anything apart from electronic music for a couple years now.

i reckon there might be tons of good stuff out there that isn't EDM, but can't be arsed to go look for it (hell in the past months i pretty much haven't got the patience to go look for any music at all). i actually enjoy a bit of some watered-down metal, say System of A Down for example, but haven't listened to it in ages

John Squire was the brains behind 'em, you know.

I own a few. I've started buying more recently. For the last few years, I was mostly interested in exploring dance music because it seemed there weren't enough hours in the day or enough pounds in my wallet to hear all the great music out there. But that's a pretty short-sighted attitude, and there are lots of things you just can't find in dance music, no matter how hard you look. I just want to hear great music, and whether or not it uses a beat or a guitar or an orchestra isn't important.

Posted by Aquarian on Mar-19-2006 01:05:

Other than EDM albums I own all the star wars soundtracks (including the unreleased stuff).

Posted by Spirit5 on Mar-19-2006 05:17:

I used to be into non edm stuff, till I found edm 8 years ago, and haven't looked back since, but in the past year i've discovered other, non trance stuff that is "trance like". But I think in the next year or so, i'll start to discover some non-electronic stuff that I like. It's hard to get used to stuff that's not electronic, esp when you are listening to something with none of the familiar synth sounds or beats. But i've always been into good jazz music, singer-song writer music, classic rock, some alternative rock, some classical, and some pop (the more intelligent pop with stories or catchy singer songwriter stuff, like Michelle Branch and John Mayer, not the Britney Spears or Justin Timberlake crap or the hip hop-pop stuff that torments the radios). So I think i'll make it a priority this year to step out of electronic and listen to something different for a change...
